I had the shrimp alfredo and my daughter had the half crab. Both came with the choice of either clam chowder or a salad with shrimp. Both of our items were delicious. There was plenty of meat on the half crab. Our waitress was really good, although it was crazy busy and she was scrambling. The restaurant was clean.

It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your time with us! It sounds like you ordered well -- the half crab is one of our favorite dishes, and I'm glad you both were pleased with your sides as well. We can get quite busy, but I'm happy to hear that your waitress was still on top of her game. With... More

I just spent seven days in San Fran and basically gorged myself on crab salad sandwiches from this place. If you don't want to pay extra to sit inside the restaurant, just order from the take out bay right outside the restaurant. The seafood doesn't get any fresher OR cheaper for that matter! For 9.25 my soft sourdough bun was... More

You should always expect plenty of crab in a crab salad sandwich -- it's in the name! Glad we could really impress you with ours, Suzie. Hope the rest of your week trip to San Francisco went just as well. All the best, Tom More

We ate fish and chips in this restaurant both before and after a cruise. The restaurant was packed on both occasions. The service was fast, and the food, and beer good.

We had a nice 30 minute lunch here. From sitting down to paying the tip we done in 30 minutes with excellent service and good food. My wife had a sourdough crab salad sandwich that came with shrimp salad while I had the mussels with a cup of chowder. Both were lunch specials in the range of 13.95 each. With two... More

Glad lunch really went well here, Randy. While the crab salad wasn't what your wife was expecting, it's wonderful the mussels could really impress. I hope the rest of your visit to the Wharf went just as well. All the best, Tom More

Am staying in Fishermans Wharf for business for the first time - usually stay in Union Square. Decided to take a little walk around and saw this unassuming spot. Real authentic place. Food was excellent, nice pour of wine from the super friendly bartender (who could tell immediately I was from out of town - no shock there!) huge generous... More

It's awesome you had a chance to visit while staying on the Wharf! I'm glad the bartender made you feel right at home as you enjoyed the wine and crab cakes. If you're still in the area for business, I'd love to welcome you back. All the best, Tom More

Had dinner at Sabella & LaTorre. Good service by Gian Paolo, our waiter. First we received a loaf of bread and plenty of butter. Then a small bowl of clam chowder. Finally salad and our main course. I had crab cake dinner, (love those crab cakes). We also purchased a bottle of merlot wine which was quite good. Meal was... More

I'm so thrilled you really enjoyed dinner here, Arnold! I'm lucky to have Gian Paolo on the team and know he'll appreciate your compliments just as much as I did. While we unfortunately missed you later for lunch, thank you for stopping by. Hope the rest of your trip went just as well. All the best, Tom More

Let me start by saying I have had excellent food here over the past 7 years and I have written great reviews for this restaurant. Recently we went on a Sunday morning there was no crowd and we received poor service and average food. I worry that they've changed recipes or chefs. It literally took 10 minutes just to get... I'm disappointed to hear about your most recent experience -- especially since you've been a fan of ours for quite some time. The delay for even water certainly isn't the norm here. And that's not even mentioning the quality of our food. I do appreciate you bringing this up, so rest assured that I will be following up with my... More

Pasta let this one down. I'd be giving 5 stars if I had the clam chowder and crab like my partner did! We had the clam chowder to start which was lovely. Better than Bar Harbour in Maine! My partner had the half crab (warm not cold) and I had the fettuccini with shrimp. Crab was nice and fresh. The... More

I'm sorry the pasta wasn't exactly what you were looking for, Sean. While I certainly want our guests to have plenty of pasta, I understand it isn't for everyone. Still, I hope that didn't take away from the clam chowder you and your partner really enjoyed. Next time you're around, I'd love to welcome you back for more. All the... More
