We booked a table as we'd heard that this is a very popular place to eat. Nice atmosphere and attentive service. Southern style food with a good choice. We decided to share our starters - first time I've had a bag of boiled peanuts as starter. Try them, you might be pleasantly surprised. Would we return? Yes

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Ordered chicken and waffles. It's the worst chicken and waffles I've had. Worse than Brenda's, worse than Farmer Brown's. Chicken was dry and very salty. Waffles is nothing special. Overall, it tastes like something you can buy frozen from a grocery store and bake at home. No special flavoring or seasoning, or any... More

Even though I had a reservation I had to wait for almost an hour. Service was average. Food (prawn) was super salty. Maybe it was just a bad day but I would not recommended.

Can you get great food in a crowded, down-home, local bar built in the 50's that has never been updated!! YES YOU CAN!! And did I mention the local craft beer served just ice cold and tasty!! And did I mention the chatty staff that will provide a history lesson on any artifact in the place and the place itself!!... More

Only eaten here for brunch. Some nice Cajun choices. Their jambalaya is pretty good for sf as is their gumbo. The food has never made me sick, which I can't say for all restaurants in sf!! The staff is pretty friendly and there's outdoor seating when the weather is nice. It's a great place if you're hungover because they have... More

Ate here the other night w/ a friend & had another wonderful meal. Our server was attentive & didn't rush us at all. Had the shrimps & grits & fried chicken. The portions are nice & a good value for the price.

the chicken and waffles and sweet potato hash were really good. the lemonade was OK. the bread pudding was not good at all. very hard and dry...we probably got an old piece. They didn't comp it even when I told them it sucked. ambiance was OK...was kind of cold inside. probably would revisit.

We were a larger party in for a late meal. Busy surroundings on a Saturday, but very positive energy. Good and personal service. Smaller or larger meals for everyone. Great drinks! Also not too pricey.

Seriously the best fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy. The salad was good too. We took home some left overs and even after 2 hours, it was still that good! I recommend going early for the 5:30 reservations because 7 pm is just crazy with the parking. After dinner you can walk over to Mitchell's for ice cream! Minuses:... More
