After walking around town close to the Bilmore we decided to stop for some Mexican food, the place looked attractive with a menu that also loooked authentic, big mistake. Terrible food and even worse service.

You can't go wrong with food in Asheville, it's foodie heaven! Cantina surpassed my expectation of Mexican in the mountains of North Carolina! Not only was it delicious, it was hot and plentful! Kristal, our waitress, was pleasant and attentive. Definitely ask to be in her service section! Thanks for a great ending to a terrific day!

The Cantina is a cozy place in a nice location with good service. Their Mexican food is a nice change from the usual Mexican restaurants, not as cheese and bean heavy or competing for the world's largest burritos (ugh!). Recently they started charging for chips and salsa, unusual for this style dining, but our last visit included three joined tables... More

OK, so we were walking and out hotel was just 5 minutes from the restaurant so we ordered a pitcher of "top shelf" margaritas for $38.00. A pitcher full of ice and juice; where did the tequila go? A burrito, a carnita (they charge and extra buck for sour cream), very average.

First, we come here 6 or 7 times a year. We like Cantons. We will be back. However, today was not their best effort. Food was okay, but we had no time to enjoy our appetizer before the main course came out. So we opted to take the appetizer home. Had to ask for napkins with the appetizer as well... More

Our waitress Cassandra was good, the food forgettable and the price over rated. Chips and salsa were not free, we did not know this until after we started eating -_-. Yes, the price is in the menu, but when asked if we would like some, we of course said yes because NO where else charges for them. The loaded nachos... More

I have eaten here a few times. The one thing that impresses: there are Mexican styled blankets available outside if you desire. This makes it all the more enticing to sit on their patio and have a drink. However, a Mexican restaurant that does not supply chips at salsa gratis? Come on. Really? They were $3.50. I have had lunch... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We do charged $2.99 for unlimited chips and unlimited house made red and green salsa. We are a certified green restaurant and part of that certification requires us to do our part in accumulating zero waste. After feedback from customers and too many half eaten plates being thrown into compos,t... More

I'm not big on spicy food but between our server and the kitchen, they provided exactly what I asked for...simple nachos with beef, cheese, lettuce and sour cream. We went with another couple and all enjoyed our meals.

Lots of good past reviews so i was hoping for a wow lunch. Ordered top shelf margarita's without salt and got base tequila with salt. Chips with salsa were kinda bland. I ordered beef tacos which were just ok. Wife ordered carnitas quesadilla which again were ok. Nothing wow except the bill. Wait staff was fine.

Absolutely wonderful! We visited here for the first time on a recommendation from super nice lady at Scout Boutique! Food was soooo good. Plantain appetizer was perfect. I had chicken quesadilla (half) which was more than enough with grilled veggies and Mexican rice. My daughter had the Cantina Skillet Hash. Both were wonderful and not over filling. We will definitely... More
