Crab legs are amazing. Corn and new potatoes were an amazing combo. Received great service from Brandon this visit. He was attentive and helpful.

Amazing food and a great staff. The stuffed mushroom are by far the best I have ever had. We also had shrimp and grits (pretty sure all shrimp and grits will be disappointing after having these) and fresh oysters. The staff is on their game...More

We come every time we visit this town. The food is fresh and perfectly cooked; the service is outstanding. Lobster, oysters galore, craft beer, amazing sides....we don't come to Asheville without visiting The Lobster Trap. Don't miss it.

Having been in Asheville many times, I was surprised to find this restaurant near one of our favorites (Tupelo Honey). I'd reviewed the TripAdvisor comments, and decided that we were all in! Unusual to find this seafood based restaurant so land locked, but, hey.. So...More

Service was great, hostess, bartender, and our server were friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and were genuine! We had a mixed dozen cold water oysters, yummy! Best Manhattan I've had in a while. The fried oyster salad is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Grilled Octopus and shrimp ceviche...More

Stopped in for dinner on Monday May 29th after spending the whole day being tourists in downtown Asheville. Good place for a casual dinner. The shrimp and grits and the trout were good entrees. The staff was pleasant and efficient.

Description
Since its opening in 2005, The Lobster Trap has been Asheville's premier seafood restaurant, and with good reason. The menu only features fresh seafood caught by trusted domestic purveyors and prepared in ways that showcase the delicate flavors and textures of fish, lobster, crabs, shrimp, oysters and clams. Located in a beautifully renovated historic building in the heart of downtown Asheville, The Lobster Trap features live entertainment from local musicians every night. To that, add locally brewed Oyster House beers, craft cocktails, seafood-friendly wines and southern hospitality and you have The Lobster Trap's formula for success.
