I haven't had real Shabu-Shabu for years -- the last time was when I was in Japan in the nineties! This was suggested by a friend, as we were going to see a singer at the Brighton Music Hall, and this seemed like a good dining option. We were able to get parking in the back, and get there early,... More

After the dinner, they alway had red bean soup for dessert. They stop it for a while, because it lower their profits. With the price they are charging for the meals. I don't think so...as of today..the red bean soup return...but..it will cost you $2.50 per serving. Really...the make it from a can and add more surgars and charge $2.50... More

Even though I attended school in Boston, I only went down to Chinatown to drink underage Scorpion Bowls. If Shabu Zen was open there, I would have frequented it far more often. Our teacher explained everything perfectly, and the meal was superb. I would go back again and again.

This was so good, especially on a cold day. I chose the house brother which is plain but which assumes the flavor of all the protein and vegetables that you put in it. The meat was a little fatty. The vegetables were sooo yummy. I was close to ordering veggie as my entrée but since the meats came with veggies... More

This is the kind of place that is made for a social dinner. You are basically fondue-ing the protein and veggies and talking all the time. We had fun, but I didn't really enjoy the tastes. The meat is so thin sliced that it lacks tooth. The noodles, rice and veggies were better. I would try the fish if I... More

The prices have gone up and the quantity has gone down. Regular combo is not enough for a light diner.

I've tried many shabu restaurants, but the design of this particular chain is not great. I came here with my boyfriend for a dinner date, and he had never been so the waiter kindly sat down with us and explained the menu to the best of her ability. To be clear, I give the customer service a -star rating. But... More

I keep going to hot pot places expecting something different each time. Well it is consistently bland food. I should stop trying it anymore.I would take hibachi over hot pot. I prefer Vietnamese Pho if I want simple food. This place was average (no complaints)

I love this place for their fresh and tasty food but I think the service could be better. Our waiter was not very attentive as I had to ask three times for more water to drink, and then for more in our hot pot. I feel that a great server is attentive to these things, especially when the restaurant is... More

We arrived and told we would have to wait 20 minutes. As 45 minutes cam and went and we saw othe families the size of our go in front of us, we became concerned. The receptionist became visibly annoyed when we question her. That said the food was average to good.
