We loved the look of this place, and our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. The quality of the fish was excellent, and there was a good selection of sake and special dishes. My one complaint is that the place gets very noisy when it's...More

Just spent three hours and a pretty penny hosting five friends at PABU. So a total of six of us - with a reservation - witnessed what can only be described as mismanagement by Michael Mina. I can't recommend PABU, and expect Michael Mina, whose...More

So I read the reviews and decided to try out this restaurant as I love sushi. It was a Saturday night and there were no seats available for the sushi bar, so I sat at the regular bar. The drinks were good (had a dirty...More

Loved Pabu because it is more than sushi and really true to Japanese cuisine rather than pan-Asian. We put together our own tasting menu starting with yakitori, sushi rolls then the larger sharing plates (trout and American wagyu were both very good) for the table....More

Canasean, We are so happy that you enjoyed your experience and our approach to traditional cuisine. Our staff was very prideful in reading your review. Thank you!

We sat at the sushi bar and were gifted with the most amazing selection of sushi. The blue fin tuna and scallop sushi actually melted in my mouth - never experienced that before. Truly a wonderful experience for the sushi aficionado.

mlescrinier, Thank you for the kind words as the truth is in the fish! Our approach is to always make our fish the focus and compliment flavors with minimal drama. Thank you for appreciating our approach to subtlety!

We split a number of small plates, and every single thing was delicious. Our favorites were the house-made tofu, the poke, and the mushroom tempura (which an adjoining diner ordered for himself after seeing ours, saying it made him jealous.) The chicken meatballs and skirt...More

Had the omakase (tasting menu). Every one of the 8 courses was excellent: delicious and beautifully presented. The service was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. And the atmosphere laid back, comfortable, but refined, perfect backdrop for great food.

Extremely busy. Waited long time for food. Difficult menu to understand and our waitress made no attempt to help us with our order. Food was good, but we were not able to enjoy as we had hoped.

First dinner out in Boston exceeded our expectations! Attentive staff, yummy apps, impeccable sushi rolls. Miso cod was mouth watering, Strip steak was the most tender ever tasted, peppers were to die for.

We came here on a Sunday evening with high expectations having read and good things about the restaurant. We were then shocked to find that they only serve ramen, some rolls and a few side dishes on Sundays. Judging from the reaction of other diners...More
