If you like Japanese food and are visiting Boston, stop in at Itadaki for lunch or dinner. Excellent innovative sushi, fresh ingredients and a friendly atmosphere. In addition, they serve good beers and a variety saki.

Good ambience, nice waiter, mediocre food. I would recommend going here for the experience but not for the food for foodies. The menu needs work, rice was too hard and katsu curry barely had curry in it, we asked for more and our kind waiter asked but the manager said no. Oh well. I wish better luck for other people.... We have been there a couple of times in the last month. Once we ate Ramen and it was really tasty and the second time we had sushi and it was also very good! the service is OK and could improve. The Sake selection is great and it's one of the few places around that reminded me of Japan with... More

We found our sushi chef Masaki to be friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to share information. The waitress however seemed to either new or distracted at times. Our food was very fresh and presented beautifully as expected. The flavors were subtle and showcased the flavor of the seafood base. Seasonings were not overdone. Masaki explained where the ingredients were sourced and... More

At this Japanese izakaya "gastro-pub" we had small plates and sushi. It's meant to be a casual eating and drinking place which you'd find in Japan. The owner is from Osaka which is a pleasant surprise. We found the fish fresh but the service was slow. I think the menu should explain that food is served as soon as it's... More

Do yourself a favour and just DO NOT BOTHER. This place does not deserve the real estate location of Newbury St. In fact go to Kashmir next door, the food is fresh, delicious & the service is much better. Visited this establishment (can't bring myself to call it a restaurant) over the labour day weekend. We waited for over an... More

Lovely setting and the most stunning food. Following the waitresses recommendation we had salmon, beef wraps and chicken pieces. Loved it so much we ordered more of the same. Very attentive and efficient staff, would definitely go back.

My daughter went to the restaurant with friends to celebrate her 17th birthday. The prices were reasonable for happy hour and the girls had a decent meal. The service was slow but adequate. After the meal, my daughter went to the restroom. The manager was waiting for her and asked what was wrong with the meal and asked her to... More

Thank you for your review. In general, if a server receives a poor tip (the table left around $2 on a $50+ check), the manager investigates the matter to ensure that the customer did not have any major complaints in the food or service. We only do this so that we can uphold a high standard in the restaurant as... More

After a very long and stressful Sunday, my girlfriend and I stopped in at Itadaki after seeing a couple of people enjoying their fish bowls. We ordered the red one, which was rum, tropical juices and grenadine, and it was delicious. They have a blue one which also has rum, a yellow one which has tequila and a green one... More

I have been here many times in last few years, but this is the first time I’m getting to review the place. If one is looking for a nice sushi restaurant while visiting Boston or shopping on Newbury, this is the place to be. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Also they have done special accommodation to a huge group... More

Itadaki is a Japanese Izakaya (the Japanese version of a Gastropub) located on Boston's famous Newbury Street. We specialize in Izakaya-style small plates for sharing (similar to Tapas) and we also have popular Japanese items such as Ramen and Sushi. In our beautiful full bar, along with an extensive drink list, we have a unique selection of Japanese Beers and Whiskeys, a large Sake list as well as New England's largest Shochu selection. For weekend afternoons, American-style brunch items, such as Omelets and French Toast are served, along with Lattes and Mimosas.

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
