This was our second trip to this pub and will be our last, sadly. We went to meet friends for Easter brunch and as they got delayed a bit, we went ahead and ordered Bloody Marys and a charcuterie plate. Our server can only be described as rushing us by constantly hovering over our table...and they restaurant was only half-full... More

We were walking along the Freedom Trail and came across the Trailhouse. We decided to stop for a drink and lunch. It wasn't very crowded when we arrived. We decided to sit at the bar. They have a decent selection of beers. We had the lobster roll which we thought was delicious. Service was average. I would stop by again.

My husband and I enjoyed nachos and burgers for lunch. We enjoyed it all they have s nice beer selection. The service was fair. We sat at the bar and the bartender was busy putting glasses away but all in all we would probably return

Went there to meet a colleague for lunch on a weekend and we were both disappointed by the limited offering and how average the food was. The restaurant has a larger general menu but the brunch menu offered on weekends only has six breakfast items. There were no other options available during that time. Had the restaurant not been a... Stopped in to the Tap Trailhouse on Friday, December 30 at 4:30pm. It was very cold outside and we were interested in having a few cocktails, a snack, and warming up. We were very excited to see how attractive the restaurant was, how warm it was and that they had so many empty tables. There were four of us and... More

Had an enjoyable meal here- wasn't the greatest food, wasn't the worst either. The service was attentive, but somewhat overrun (guessing someone called in sick).

I was there yesterday with a large number of coworkers. It was the day of our annual holiday party. I had ordered the prime rib sandwich, which came in some kind of pan, and was served on a bun so soft it couldn't be picked up. I cut it with a knife and fork, and it was delicious. So were... More

We were heading towards Union Oyster House for lunch when we spotted The Tap. It looked good and welcoming. Turned out to be a good choice. Lots of choices of draft local beers, and a good lunch menu. Service was prompt and friendly. Salad with grilled shrimp was very good. (The shrimp could have been cooked just a bit less,... More

Tap Trailhouse has a pretty interesting restaurant in downtown Boston that fits its name and matches that All-American, especially when it’s right on the Freedom Trail such as 'I'm a restaurant along the Freedom Trail' theme. I have been here few times on bear tasting event in the past. This time, it was past stop in downtown while showing the... More

My wife and I stopped in for a flight of beers each. The bartender was knowledgeable and made good recommendations (I like dark beers, she likes light beers). The bar was not crowded like some others, so we didn't have to fight a sea of people. We also ordered the pretzel sticks which were yummy. Good beer, good snacks, good... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
