The best clam chowder in town - creamy, solid and chock-full of seafood. Yet the flavour is gentle. It is, however, very filling, so if you order a main course, do so to share. The lobster mac and cheese is also a winner: solid pieces of lobster in a rich, creamy sauce with mac cooked just so. This too is... More

First of all the location is great. Nice views on the marina. And it happened that we had supemoon on that night, rising just over the boats in front of us - you an imagine our excitement. The food is superb. Everything we took was delicious. Mine BOSTON’S BEST FISH AND CHIPS were indeed the best I ever tried! I... More

The staff was very helpful in organizing a party/happy hour for 25 friends at the bar. The waitress Renee was attentive and organized. Drinks and appetizer were served quickly and were tasty.

From the minute we walked in, we were tended to by friendly staff members. We were seated immediately, and every table has a great view. This is not the restaurant for those watching their diets, although there were lighter options & salads. The Clam Chowder was literally overflowing, chunky & tasty (it's very filling; split it with someone), and the... More

Like all the other reviews here raving about Boston Sail, this restaurant is a hidden gem, I say that because ithe prices are fantastic given the quality and the quantity of the food, in particular the seafood. I have been here several times for lunch and dinner, always recommend the Cajun Popcorn Shrimp and the Chicken Apple Walnut Salad.

The bellman at our hotel suggested the Sail Loft as we prefer smaller more local restaurants. The restaurant was packed for the holiday weekend. Nice views and a large menu were nice. We tried the chowder and were underwhelmed. Too thick for my taste. I have heard that chowder isn't good unless you can stand your spoon up in it,... More

Service was attentive at this popular restaurant. Food was delicious and fresh! Portions were large and filling. Parking in near-by lots is $$.

Great food, great prices and wonderful service, consistently. My husband's friend recommended this place to us. We've been here a few times but I wanted to wait until I could make a proper recommendation. The daily menu is wonderful. Fresh seafood and a few land lubber meat dishes but the Saturday specials are wonderful. My Husband gets the seafood Fra... More

On a cold blustery day in Boston, a great way to warm up is to stop for lunch at the Boston Sail Loft. It appears to be a local place where the staff is friendly. We tried their New England Chowder which was both tasty and very filling. The chowder had a good mix of clams small pieces of potato... More

The Lobster Mac...does anything SOUND better than 4-Cheese-Lobster-Mac? What about scallops breaded with Ritz crackers, broiled and served with mashed potatoes? Sadly, we should have left it at that and saved ourselves the schlepp and the $$$. Mac dreadfully under-seasoned and lobster--while chunky--tasted frozen; scallops--at $28.00 would have vastly improved at half that price. Nice wait staff. Good mashed potatoes.... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
