This was the fifth year in a row that I have gathered a group of friends at Trattoria Il Panino the night before the Boston Marathon to enjoy real Italian food, beautifully prepared and well served. When we arrive, we are greeted like old friends, and despite it being an extremely busy night for Italian restaurants, we are never rushed... More

This is a Classic trattoria. The food was very good and the pasta was served on a pan instead of a plate, adding to originality! Service could have been better, got the impression waiters knew customers will continue to come given the great location and history so they did not put forth that extra effort to make you feel welcomed.... My family and for the very nice meal at this restaurant the Saturday before for the Boston Marathon. We specifically chose this restaurant because we could make reservations. Good choice! David is a fantastic and very lively waiter. He showed his cell phone pics of all the famous athletes that come into the restaurant. My teenage son love that! Every... More

The pasta was like buttah (and I'm not a big pasta fan). I had the porcini ravioli and it was delicious, my husband got the lasagna and it was probably the best lasagna I ever had. They were also very friendly and accommodating to the kids and made them spaghetti and meatballs off the menu. So if you are looking... More

Picked this place because it takes reservations and good TripAdvisor reviews. David was our waiter and we sat overlooking the street scene on a beautiful night. Nice size portions. Took the reviewers advice and ordered the zucchini blossoms. Never had them before and loved them. My daughter ordered their ragu which she LOVED. my son loved the large chicken Parmesan.... More

Made a reservation during marathon weekend. We were seated in the wine cellar with worked out well for us because the crowded restaurant was very noisy. Our server was attentive and polite. We all liked our meals but I must say the lasagna my husband ordered was the best we have ever had. I will definitely return.

If you are looking for a pesto dish that tastes like pesto then this is the place. Food was fantastic and the service was amazing especially Maria. Portions were large enough you could share if you so desire. Very accommodating and the atmosphere was great. I would definitely return.

My husband and I grabbed dinner here before a Celtics game. Location was easy to get to and from the Garden (walking distance). We had some cocktails (stoli doli) and a seafood grilled dish. Everything was excellent. Beautifully plated and just right amount of food. It was grilled fish, calamari, roasted veggies and some baby potatoes. I think this place... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
