Good and friendly service, fresh food in a neighborhood restaurant. They are also family friendly. We were here on a Friday evening at 6Pm - they were packed. Good pizza, even better pasta

I don't know how this place gets such great reviews, but if you like overpriced menu items with the identical Ragu on whatever you're having, terrible service, no tablecloths, re-using your cutlery for every 'course', and no bar - then this place is for you. Otherwise, skip the stomach ache and choose elsewhere.

I took a group of 8 for a celebration dinner on a Saturday night in April. We made our reservation for 6:00. Arrived early (5:55). Waited 10 minutes and were seated. I read the reviews by some complaining about not having their reservation right away when they arrived at the restaurant. Well, this is a small place in the North... More

Antico Forno has THE BEST LAMB SANDWICH in the country. We love this restaurant, with its homemade sauce and fresh ricotta, to its open air front windows and exposed brick, Antico Forno is a lovely way to spend an afternoon with friends, enjoying delicious Italian food and wine.

We had two wonderful pasta dishes, salads and a perfectly cooked side of broccoli rabe. The only disappointment was no Campari in an Italian restaurant? Really? Well-paced meal with attentive service even on a busy night. One of my favorite places in the North End.

Excellent food! Walked right in with no reservation on a Wednesday evening. Had a party of 5 and everyone loved their choice...from pasta to Pizza. I agree that the establishment was a bit noisy, but worth any noise for the food!

We went here Saturday on a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. We did make a reservation, as we figured it would be quite busy, which it was. But we were seated right on time. As others have said, the place is very full and busy, you can barely walk between tables, they pack them in there.... More

Monday evening. Other restaurants had lines. We keep walking seeing on our phones high reviews for this place off the main drag. Happy to sit and have a great meal. Service was strange. Dour waitress. Pizza is not good! So cheesy. Not a really nice Neapolitan pie. We had two in just the past two days. Seriously. Pasta okay -... More

Everything we had was very good. The marinara sauce helped every dish it was used on. This restaurant can get very busy on the weekends and like many North End restaurants they fill the place with as many tables as they can. The noise level was very high and made normal conversation impossible. The service was just OK but it... More

One of many many pizza and Italian places in North End. We split 2 pizzas because the waitress said that one wasn't enough. However we thought that we could have done with one once they come out. If you are really hungry then I would agree but we were looking for something light to hold us til dinner and we... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
