We visit this restaurant again and again because our family loves it so much. We can't seem to get a better meal anywhere else in the north end. On this trip, we had frutta de mare, chicken Parmesan, fettuccine Alfredo and fish with tomatoes. All were outstanding! I had a glass of the Stemmari Pinot noir, a personal favorite. The... More

Dropped in randomly while looking for an Italian place for lunch. So good we went back the next night for dinner. The caprese salad is excellent. Big slabs of fresh mozzarella with tomato and olive oil. Very tasty. I had the veal which was very good and my wife had carbonara. She liked it so much that we went back... More

Enjoyed this restaurant a friend and I dropped into early on a Sunday evening (Oct.), we were quickly seated and ordered a bread with mozzarella appetizer which was fresh and delicious with ripe tomato and basil. I also ordered pinot grigeo which was excellent. The ample caesar salad was excellent and main dish of shrimp over spagetti pasta was also... More

Despite having booked we were briskly asked to stand against the bar wall whilst a table could be found for us and this took about 20 minutes. I would have thought a suggestion of a cocktail at the bar would have been a much nicer greeting. To be fair our waiter was attentive and friendly and our hosts two meals... More

A group of 6 friends came here after a business meeting. The place was really crowded and the waiter couldn't get behind half of us. Everyone enjoyed their dinner except for one who ended up not being charged for her bad fish. We would certainly return if every back in this area.

This is a small restaurant with tables fairly close together, but it wasn't noisy (other than street noise). Service was friendly and very quick, and everyone enjoyed their dinner.

We were exploring the North End and decided to see what our 'refreshment' options were just off Hanover St. We stopped in are glad we did. We had special martini's--Lemon Drop, Expresso--their two most popular. We now know why! And our host/bartender was a delight. Ambiance was first rate.

Mrs Human Vern and I went to the North End looking for a new dining experience. We visited Vill Francesca for the first time and unfortunately, it will be our last time. The wait staff seemed to be non-plussed with our company and were indifferent during the whole meal. We had a fruit fly buzzing our table and the waiter... More

We thought decor very nice. But did not like the food, Thought we would try a Italian resturant while visiting Boston but did not like the food here. Very pricey for what you get too. I would recomende Maggianos for Itlaian Food

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
