My wife and I had been looking forward to dining at Strega on Hannover St all week, we have been residents of the North End for nearly a year and had never visited this establishment. We were there last Friday 14th for an early evening dinner. What a crushing disappointment - with the exception of a very professional and courteous... More

I had very much been looking forward to dining at Strega and perhaps my expectations were a bit too high. In any event, I wouldn't rush back. The food is average in quality but outrageously overpriced. My dining companion and I shared an arugula and grapefruit salad which was the best part of the meal. I had one of the... More

An exceptional fine dining experience at Strega North End. Our waiter, an employee of Strega North End for 10 years, knew a friend of ours who owns another nearby restaurant. He advised that we only order one caesar salad, rather than two (they are large enough to share), saving us a few dollars. The wine list is extensive and we... More

A group of us went here on a Wednesday night, The place was easy to find, your best bet is to valet park. We had make resv. so we was seated right away. They do have a no hat policy. Our server was great telling us the specials and about the food. Everything we got from apps, to dessert was... More

My husband bought a Groupon in December for Strega. He told me we were going out on Sunday, but didn't tell me where. When we arrived at Strega I was excited because I have heard great things. I don't normally like going to Italian Restaurants because their food never compares to my own cooking, but the Chicken dish that I... More

We first walked into Strega in July 2011 when bringing my now husband to the North End for the best Italian food... we walked up and down the street and decided on Strega- and we were sure glad we did! Intimate ambience, genuine servers... The food was extraordinary and the drinks were top shelf! Strega is just overall the full... More

I went to Strega for Restaurant Week; it was a real treat. My wife and I had different course selections. I had the tasty fried calamari, savory shrimp and scallops in a vodka cream sauce over fresh pasta and a great chocolate chip cannoli. My wife enjoyed the large meatball calabrese, the grilled sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus... More

On a whole, Strega delivered a quality North End Italian experience. We researched several options in advance of our weekend trip to Boston and decided on Strega for the fact that they take reservations, had a slightly bigger space in comparison to other establishments, and of course the previous slew of positive reviews. Here are our thoughts on Strega: Atmosphere:... More

It was tight seating and lots of arms in your face trying to navigate other seats but the food was pretty good. The company made the experience much better than anything else. No B&B or cappuccino which was a little disappointing but they did try to get it.

Strega is an excellent restaurant in the North End of Boston for authentic Italian dinning. The food was as good as any on Hanover St. Service was also excellent, the waiter was very attentive and informative about the menu and specials. Atmosphere was very good, but in a relatively small room the seating was a little close.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
