We visited Jacob Wirth almost twenty years ago on our honeymoon and enjoyed its traditional German menu. Goodness knows what’s happened to it – poor Herr Wirth must be spinning in his grave. All you have here now is a basic, regular restaurant with a...More

I used to enjoy this restaurant and was eager to try it again, but it turned out to be quite a disappointment. There are traces of the old atmosphere and a large beer selection, but the food is mediocre at best. The uninspired quality is...More

Have been to the restaurant several times over decades! It has always been consistently good, the food and the service. Most recently my daughter and I had reservations at another restaurant prior to a show at the Opera House. When we arrived people who had...More

German restaurant with a large beer and other drinks menu to pick from. Service is speedy. Bring a passport to prove your age before they will serve you a drink. I still needed one despite being 40.

Where do I begin? Well, we were a party of 4. We were seated and got 2 pieces of cornbread. We asked for more cornbread and were told there would be an extra charge for additional cornbread. We informed our server we only got 2...More

We had the wiener schnitzel and weisswurst and both were pretty good. The service was also good. If you're looking for German fare I would give Jacob Worth a try.

The Boston Theater district grew up around Jacob Wirth's (which was there first.) I wish I liked sausage, because I am always intrigued by the variety & aroma, but when we were recently there, I stuck with the sauerbraten. The "small plate" is more than...More

Been there since way back and other than no sawdust on the floor it hasn't changed much. Great old German joint with good beer and food...prices are right up to date though.

2nd oldest restaurant in Boston I heard? the drink! over 30 draft choices!! Jack's Dark was unique! Now, food wise...the special: Pork Studel was AMAZING!!! I could eat there everyday! I went back to try the award winning clam chowder. The BEST!!! I am generally...More

Best place to go in Boston for German food. Noisy just like the real deal in Bavaria. No complaints with the bratwurst and red cabbage with hot german potato salad. Bread pudding was a very filling dessert.

Hi, do you offer wine? And if so, what kind? Would we need a reservation for a Thursday? Also, beers from Germany?

Yes, we did drink wine but I do not remember what kind, it was some month ago. But I remember it was OK - much better than the food!

Thank you for your question. The only dish we can make without seasoning is our burgers. All other dishes are mostly pre marinated. Please make sure to ask your server about your request when you arrive!
