Ordered an avocado Havarti melt and it was just that - with no additional flavours...Not very interesting.

The idea of the place is really nice, having lunch in a cute little cafe and bookstore and then browsing afterwards. However, it took ages for someone to seat us and my breakfast was horrible, I had the skillet. The cheese was so strong and I couldn't taste anything else. My husbands breakfast was good though. I think the idea... More

We breakfasted twice at the Trident Booksellers cafe, once at the upstairs breakfast bar and once downstairs in the room that looks out onto Newbury Street. On the first occasion the place was packed - always a good sign and we were directed upstairs. What struck us immediately was the range of great food and the huge portions that were... More

Had a lovely family brunch to start the day for a 21st. Very good choice of food. Egg Benedict with avacado and a side of Canadian bacon mmm delicious. Good Service, staff very friendly and helpful.

Trident Booksellers and Cafe is a unique and eclectic spot. Think of a bookstore with a restaurant sandwiched in on the main and second floors. It is a very popular spot on weekends so your best bet is to arrive early so you're not stuck in a rather lengthy line. The menu is extensive and offers up a wide variety... More

It's a cool vibe and a great idea, but the food is merely "okay." Ordered a pretty basic omelet, brie and apples, and it had so much brie that it was tough to eat. The toast wasn't really toasted, just sort of warm and soft. The fresh juice we ordered was great, though!

We stopped in here for breakfast on our last day in Boston and my only regret is that we didn't find this place sooner. Breakfast and books, what more could you want?! The staff were attentive, but not overbearing, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was really cosy. I also managed to pick up some last minute gifts. Can't... More

Love everything about this place, especially the menu ... and the books! Very cozy place. Our party of five was lucky to get a table at the very back. Full breakfast menu including yummies like lemon ricotta waffles with blueberries along with more traditional fare. Eggplant Caprese Sandwich ($11) with walnut pesto and arugula on rosemary focaccia bread was delicious!... More

This place looks great but unfortunately my experience of the service was really poor. My friend and I asked to be seated upstairs and were given a table number, however when we got upstairs there was an empty table by the window. We asked if we could sit there instead, knowing this wasn't our table number but thinking there's no... More

A typical University town asset of books, food and drink. Real student vibe but great for us more mature students. Breakfast was great but the evening salads and wings were standout decent eating at a very affordable price. None of this flummery of greeters, servers and experience evaluators, just a bloke behind the bar who took your orders and delivered... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
