The first night we were here, we weren't quite ready to head back to our hotel (Holiday Inn behind the restaurant) so stopped in for a night cap. We had the lemongrass martini - fabulous. Highly recommend that one. No food for this time, just a couple of drinks, conversation and TV. We sat at the bar. Before we headed... More

Breakfast, Bruch, Lunch or Dinner, choose your time and take your pick and i don't think you could be disappointed at this Diner located on a corner of Atlantic Avenue. We were here for Brunch on a busy Saturday morning and we had made a reservation beforehand which paid off because people were being turned away at the door or... More

We walked here from our hotel to check it out first before dinner. We had a drink at the bar and looked at the menu. We were disappointed what they offered , not much seafood at all. The restaurant was very loud, kids screaming, and looks like more of a fast food place than a restaurant. No, we would not... More

I heard about this resto since there was a report that the chef won awards for the 5th year making the best hamburgers. So I went there to try it. However, I did not realize that there was more than one resto and ended up at the one on the waterfront and simply called ' Joe's waterfront'. After verifying with... More

I was by myself and sat outside on the terrace overlooking the harbor. During lunch time to sun is shining on the terrace, which was really nice in mid November. I had a simple but pricey lunch kale/quinoa salad for 13.95. The salad was really good but it was a small portion and without bread to accompany it it was... More

We had a dinner at Joe's because of the last minute booking. The food was terrible. I ordered a steak. The size was 2 inches without any sides. You can order for example mash potato for $9 separately. The sangria was like sweet water. The prices are very high. But if you want to eat dinner in the cheap dinner... More

I had the most amazing salad here and a lovely cocktail too. It's also in a great location. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

Nothing bad, nothing great. Just lunch. My wife had the chocolate cake which was really good. I had the burger, my wife had meatballs and flatbread. Expense but just lunch.

Lunchtime lobster rolls for the two of us, one with French fries the other with sweet-potatoe fries - excellent: fresh and tasty toasted brioche, just enough salad and mayo, and tons of fresh lobster. Experience was made even better by sitting harbour-side in the sunshine, but the lunch food was the main star.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
