I can see why this place gets such good reviews and why it's so busy. Do yourself a favor and grab yourself a sandwich from here whilst in Boston. The pulled pork sandwich was huge and very tasty!! Would definitely hit up this place again.

We arrived in Boston after an early flight from London and feeling hungry and just around the corner from the hotel we found ourselves here. And boy was the pulled chicken sandwich so delicious. Spicy and hot it hit the spot on a cold chilly day. Got a seat and table which was a result. We are sure to go... More

I ended up here by accident, having been in the area, and searched online for good lunch places. The line was out the door when I arrived around 12/12:30, but moved quickly. The sandwiches aren't cheap, even for the vegetarian options (my sandwich, a bag of chips, and a soda cost me almost $18!), but they were yummy. Only able... More

I love Sam LaGrassa's! They have giant sandwiches and they're delicious. This is one place where I crave the pastrami.

So we came to Boston for the long weekend. On Friday, once we arrived into the downtown area, we walked to Sam Lagrassa's for lunch. I had the turkey, ham and swiss and my fiancé had the southwestern pastrami. These sandwiches were SO good that we ended up going back to get lunch on Monday!! We both had the southwestern... More

The BEST pastrami sandwich you will ever have! They have a separate takeout line and a nook within which you can eat your sandwich. The sandwiches are MASSIVE and worth the price. Unlike other pastrami sandwiches I've had, there are no grizzly bits you need to spit out. Every bite is great! They are only open during the weekday for... More

Go to Sam LaGrassa's for simply the best deli sandwiches in Boston. One confession - they are so big that I usually tell myself I am only going to eat half for lunch and save the other half for in the refrigerator for tomorrow. Don't think that plan has ever worked.

Sam LaGrassa's is awesome. It's famous for a reason. We went there with a small group for a business lunch and everyone loved their food. Word to the wise-The place is busy and seating is tight. We end up standing and eating on a bar/counter by the window. It worked out just fine. Sams is quick and delicious. I'll be... More

First, I can't give this place a "5" because while my husband and I thought the sandwiches were good, we both agreed that we've had better. We are a bit biased, having enjoyed places like Panini Toscani in Florence. I would also prefer a po'boy in New Orleans, but that's just me. Having said that, these sandwiches are really great.... The place is great. As often as I come I still get excited about walking in the front door and placing my order with the boss... always so calm and accommodating. He reminds me a lot of Doug, who took the orders at Hot Doug's in Chicago. Was going to try something different, turkey or roast beef, but then couldn't... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
