Sole Luna Cafe was a cute little Italian restaurant near our place of stay on our last trip to San Diego. It had indoor and outdoor seating with true Italians running the show. The food was tasty and generous portions. It lacked full flavor in my opinion but was good enough. We had the gnocchi, tortellini and tortelloni. The tortelloni... More

Sidwalk cafe, right on the corner of a residential building in downtown San Diego. Inside or outside seating, great soups and entrees.

Visited this restaurant as it was only a block from out lodging, had good reviews, and we were in the mood for Italian. It was full of locals, which was a good sign, so we we were hopeful of a good meal. Only one of us realized that hope. I ordered the mare salad, and it was terrific. Lots of... More

Stopped by for brunch after mass at the nearby cathedral. The service was excellent, and the menu selection varied. I chose the Sole scramble, and had a wonderful scramble of Italian sausage, bacon and mushrooms, surrounded by eggs and melted blue cheese. The breakfasts come with a choice of roasted or mashed potatoes, which I found interesting.

The coffee here is reasonably good, not that the coffee is a way of judging what is effectively a restaurant space. The location facing an intimate terrace overlooking the city, below the Cortez Hotel on Cortez Hill is second-to-none though in the downtown area, so no matter how good or bad the food would be, this is definitely a great... We went to this restaurant with three families before a symphony show. We had a mixture of adults and children and had made reservations in advance. The restaurant is small so we were seated with the adults at one table and the kids at another. We all ordered different food off the menu. I was disappointed in the Caprese salad... More

As we have extra time before we board our ship for our first cruise we are just chilling. Being right across from our motel and overly excited we decided we needed something to calm us. So here we are.. awesome sitting, wonderful workers and very relaxing. Just what we needed. .

With Italian speaking staff. We stopped by for a light dinner and were not disappointed. My partner chose the Mare salad of tuna, smoked salmon, shrimp in a bed of mixed greens. For me, I ordered the chicken parmigiana with salad. Just slightly over baked but still delicious. I paired this with a glass of Argentina Malbec (excellent for the... More

Very quaint little cafe. Made me seem like I was in Italy. Extremely friendly waiters that were actually Italian. Food and wine was exceptional. Had the Meatball appetizer and the Grilled Salmon over Greens with Shrimp. Wife said the wine was exceptional also. This is a hidden gem with great food and great prices.

We walk the mongrels by this restaurant all the time, and only recently had a chance to stop in for a meal (beagles in tow). I'm glad we didn't look at Yelp before stopping, otherwise I might've had second thoughts. All we knew was that we wanted a good meal, and every time we walk by, the scents coming out... More
