Very tasty food served by a very knowledgable and professional staff. The Gaslamp District makes for a very memorable dining experience. Expensive, but worth it. Seared scallops were delicious.

I had dinner with 3 work colleagues at Blue Point. Dave was our server and he was extremely knowledgeable about every dish in the menu. He started with telling us about the specials and minor tweaks to the menu along with his favorites on the menu. I had one of Dave's favorites, a combination of octopus and tuna. Both were... More

Classy place: elegant furnishings, semi-private booths, wait staff in white shirt & apron & black tie. Food creatively prepared, fresh, and very flavorful. Started with a bisque of caramelized onion and roasted garlic. Wow! That really popped. Main dish of Baja sea bass with crab stuffing equally excellent. Dessert of cheesecake not as good - a bit dry. At times... More

For the last night in San Diego we decided to splurge a bit and try the Blue Point Coastal Restaurant, as we know generally seafood costs a bit more. The restaurant itself is in an old building and has the old-world charm, just like the Italian Opera House restaurant we tried the night before. The difference is that at the... More

From the moment we sat down at our table, the attention paid to us was top notch. Simple gestures like making sure our water glasses were never less than half full, to bringing more of the (amazingly delicious) bread, to joking about the speed at which the oysters on the half shell were devoured will not be forgotten. Our drinks... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our first evening in San Diego with a delicious meal. From the complimentary pastry, to the lobster bisque, which we shared, to the delicious catch of the day (mine) and yellow fin tuna (his), the meal was well prepared and beautifully presented. Since we were celebrating my birthday, they provided a delicious hazelnut cake... More

We sat in a curved booth at this restaurant in the Gaslamp District and thoroughly enjoyed our evening starting with a tasty craft cocktail and the amuse bouche. We were warned that the bread was excellent and you couldn't stop eating it and it was true. Next we shared the Tuna Poke which was so fresh and the taro chips... More

Attentive service, white tablecloths. Lobster bisque was outstanding. I chose seafood as my entree. Will visit again.

We had dinner here early on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was not very crowded when we arrived, but filled up quickly. We were seated in a booth. There was a good number of dishes I was interested trying. I had a Caesar salad to start and the Salmon Dish. Both were very good. The downside of the service was... More

There are good meals and there are exceptional dining experiences. Blue Point is exceptional. Service throughout was gracious and well informed. The booth was so comfortable, medium lighting, no raucous noise. I started with a French elder cocktail that came with a second portion on ice to be added as desired. He had a glass of wine. Then we shared... More
