Dining + design form the perfect union at San Diego’s highly acclaimed CUCINA urbana, a California-inspired Italian kitchen and wine shop, located in the heart of Bankers Hill since 2009. CUCINA’s cuisine is prepared with a focus on California seasonality + the bounty of local farms. Combined flavors of Italy + organic freshness of Southern California is emblematic of CUCINA’s from-scratch menus. Standouts include shareable portions of house made pastas, innovative pizzas, cleverly crafted seafood and meat preparations, an elevated selection of antipasti, dolci and signature cheese + salumi. Seasonal cocktail menus crafted with freshly picked herbs from their own gardens are precise, balanced + direct, combining simple flavors with sophisticated technique. Their NEW wine list amply represents all the benchmark regions labeled as 'Here', 'There' or 'Everywhere' for a delightful + approachable experience. Enjoy it there or take it home from their retail wine + gift shop!

I have been here a few times. Just went last night again...before walking over to Balboa Park to catch a musical which was convenient. Food is always pretty solid. Squash blossoms are yummy. They have a short happy hour with a few tasty looking items....More

Dined here last fall with a group of 10. Great service, incredibly well priced wine list, and lots of dining selections. Would definitely return next time I'm in San Diego

Lovely restaurant with fun vibe. Had absolutely fantastic meal and our server was outstanding! She knew everything about the menu and really helped us narrow down our choices. The portions are large!

Food was absolutely delicious and service was also on point. Very surprised to learn that u have to request bread if so interested, especially being an Italian restaurant. Located downtown so parking alittle difficult but don't hesitate going it's very well worth it.

The food is always great, the only complain would be it is always crowded for dinner, but worth the hassle.

A solid 4 star experience, yet again. This remains one of our favorite restaurants in SD. It's a casual upscale eatery, delivering very good food, with attentive service. We've dined here numerous times, and most recently we dined in their quarterly "Beast Feast", which is...More

We came here for dinner and drinks and had a reservation for 8:15. It was odd that I had to repeat my name several times (a common name), and once everyone else got seated, they came to us and again asked me my name. We...More
