Some people are disappointed with famous restaurants as their expectations are not met. This was not the case on our visit to Prado at beautiful Balboa Park We got there about 10 minutes before opening and waited on a short line for lunch. Our server Scott had a personality which added to our enjoyment as he suggested food and drink... More

This restaurant ambience makes I feel dining in the Mediteeranean Europe. Mexican food is also served there, it 's crowded and busy during the weekends and esp.holiday season. It may be long line for waiting the seats but It worths that. It 's good place for celebrating your special events with friends, family or couples.

You could eat here twice a day. This is certainly the cornerstone of Balboa Park. This is one of the 25 Cohn family restaurants and you can tell that is family owned by the attention to detail. Don't miss this restaurant!

I was visiting museums at Balboa Park solo on our recent trip to San Diego. I was dreading lunch as it looked like this restaurant was the only choice but I was sure it would be awful overpriced tourist food. So pleasantly surprised to discover a very pleasant garden patio with a reasonably priced menu and extremely good servers. I... More

The Prado is one of my personal favs in San Diego. If you are heading to Balboa Park for the day and want to break for a casual to elegant lunch with superb food and service, the Prado is your go-to-destination. The mission style building and dining rooms are elegant, but feel free to arrive in anything from tourist casual... More

The Prado as indicated from it's title is in the heart of Balboa Park. We were there on a Sunday evening so it wasn't crowed and we ate outside as the weather was perfect. The patio was beautiful and would be a romantic evening for a couple. A friend who lives in SD took us there as it is one... More

Stopped by for drinks and ordered G&T's. What tonic they were using I don not know. Flat as a pancake it was, very disappointing.

My husband likes sit-down service, so we went here. I warned him it would be overpriced and most likely bad service/food due to weekend crowds. I was right. Maybe this place is better on a weekday, but it was pretty bad on a Sunday afternoon. I had the fish tacos. The fillings were nice, squash and mango were unusual, but... More
