Lovely cafe in The East village. Found this through trip advisor and was not disappointed. They were serving light meals in the early afternoon so I chose the steak tartare. This was delicious 😋. Finished with the chocolate tart. Thanks for the ambience and hospitality.

I had the poached eggs with mushrooms which was really good, but did need some seasoning. The coffee takes it time, so don't show up jonesing for a cuppa. It's best for them to tell you it's fresh brewed drip style and you will then have the patience. Incidentally, when it did arrive, it was a good cup and the... More

Amongst the numerous restaurants in San Diego that are worthy of a 5 star rating, Cafe Chloe stands out. Not specifically because of the food, ambience or serve; rather it's a combination of how they all come together. Plan on going on a Tuesday or Wednesday and get half off their reserve bottles of wine. Only areas of improvement I'd... More

Good food, good prices and good service mean it is a good restaurant, but, when you add a very friendly and helpful owner/manager, like Alison, you can begin to call it a GREAT restaurant. Everyone in our group was very pleased with all aspects of our brunch visit. The French Onion Soup was the closest taste to what I experienced... More

Table for one on a Saturday night and though the menu is more American than French bistro the steak frites was satisfying and the wine selection on point. Staff was friendly and attentive.

We had dinner at cafe Chloe tonight, we had been here 4 years ago when we visited the area last. We enjoyed our dinner then and had high expectations for tonight, let me tell you we were not disappointed. Everything was delicious! We will have to back and try breakfast and lunch!

Completely wonderful space which you will not find anywhere else in this city. Part of the East Village development making downtown San Diego a bit more trendy and a little less touristy. Cafe Chloe is small, intimate and completely welcoming with rustic hard wood floors, a rounded marble bistro bar, nooks for small tables everywhere in this petite space which... More

Great find slightly off the beaten tourist track. My steak frites was cooked beautifully, and the shoestring fries were some of the most flavorful I've ever had. My husband's salmon was equally well prepared. The pumpkin bread pudding was fantastic, and the caramel ice cream was heavenly. The Tokaji dessert wine that was the suggested pairing with the bread pudding... More

Brunch at Cafe Chloe is a must in the East Village. It's like being transported to a Parisian café. We enjoyed the steak tartare and the croque madame was divine. Our waitress Tiffany was fantastic. My mother said it was the "best brunch she ever had" and that she "could eat every meal here.". The whole staff, meal and setting... More

Very tastefully appointed corner cafe with eclectic menu (pancakes next to steak tartare), yet very tasty, though a bit pricey. Kind and attentive wait staff. Ate in the loft, romantic, but cramped, especially when a second couple chose the location. Had to impose on them every time one had to get up. Nevertheless, very good food in a nice atmosphere.
