Love this place! We discovered Flippin last year. A dark, cool, cozy, authentic Italian restaurant. We enjoy sitting at the bar, meeting people and watching football. Last year I ordered the supreme pizza. It has to weigh 5 pounds. Delicious. Husband had chicken parm. This year we had chicken parm. And veal parm. With salad and garlic bread. Huge portions,... To us the pizza was unusual, close to extreme amount of cheese. Crust was tasty, properly cooked. Fettuccine noodles were unfortunately undercooked and tough.

I stop at Filippi's in Mira Mesa once a week and order lasagna marinara to go. The to-go service is amazingly fast, courteous and the lasagna is so, so, so, good, swimming in lots of thick Italian pasta sauce. To die for!

We eat here about once a month. They are consistently good. Most often we have the special pizza and the antipasto salad. The service is always good. On special occasions we have enjoyed the fabulous prime rib dinner which is terrifically priced. If you are lighter eaters you can share this delectable meal.

We ordered 2 large pizzas for pickup and they were both ready for pickup when we got there. Not being from CA, they were $46.00. But they were good and very tasty.

The Pasta was very good with the lasagna being the highlight. Fun place for kids and parking is available which is key in Little Italy. We will be back to this gem!

Where do I start? They have great pizza and my favorite pasta, Rigatoni. Many so-called Italian restaurants don't have Rigatoni anymore. Their sauce is thick and tomato-rich just the way I like it. Don't miss this place.

There's a good food here, and plenty of it! All portions are akin to that made by a traditional italian momma, and just as tasty! From garlic bread to lasagna and pizza, everything is mouth-watering and hard to stop eating even after the 2nd helping.

Not sure about the rest of the population but for my family, Filippi's is a tradition. Whenever we want pizza, this is where we go. Their pies are a perfect combination of bread, cheese, sauce and toppings. Strangely enough, whenever we want a satisfying prime rib dinner, this is also where we go. The cuts are generous in size, cooked... More
