We visit San Diego fairly often because we have family here. Probably every visit I end up at Newbreak. Very friendly staff. Right by the beach. Very comfortable place to sit and read or think or do a little work. I just had a macchiato (espresso with a drop of foam, not the sugary drink that Starbucks calls a macchiato)... More

When I had to get some work done I just popped in and hooked up to their complimentary WiFi grabbed some coffee and enjoyed the atmosphere. It's quiet like a library but you could hold a two person meeting here and not disrupt the vibe.

During our stay on OB, we walked there every morning to enjoy their tasty, perfectly brewed, house coffee and Norma's amazing homemade coffee cake. Also, had the breakfast burrito and egg sandwich which were very good. The service and atmosphere was warm and friendly, the prices reasonable and so close for a walk on the beach afterwards.

Great place to grab a bite, coffee or tea and chill out with your studies or a good book you are reading. The cafe has a nice vibe and the employees were friendly. The food was delicious too. Great lunch with soups and different specials. A friend brought us here for lunch and had a great meal. Stop in next... More

It was our first day in San Diego, staying in Ocean Beach (we'd arrived late the night before) and our neighbour recommended heading in this general direction for breakfast. The weather was awful, it was very overcast and had started to rain, we'd passed several eateries that didn't seem to open for breakfast, and this was the first open place... More

I ride with a group of friends and there is no finer place to take our mid ride coffee than the Newbreak. Friendly staff and good eats.

We came to the Newbreak on the first day of our vacation. There are lots of choices. Hubby had an omelet and I had a basic egg, potatoes, sausage plate. Both were good as was the house coffee. Nice walk-able location

This is the proper way to start your day off fresh. Weekend mornings can get busy but good coffee is worth the wait. Parking a breeze, and just cross the street for a surf check if it interests you.

Are you looking for good coffee with refills for 75 cents? I also had the best bagel ever called the Myconos. I wish I had been in Ocean Beach longer to try more of their delicious selections.

Would totally recommend newbreak! Staff is awesome, and their breakfast... Mmmmm delicious! Try the oatmeal with extra peanut butter! Awesome! Would definitely go there again!
