We went on a Friday evening, calling ahead a half hour as suggested to reserve our table. (The policy is no reservations, but by calling ahead, we were told by an employee that was the way to go.) We arrived on time but the small indoor seating area was full. It was a cold evening so we were reluctant to... More

We ended up here looking for a late lunch after checking into a nearby hotel. We were nicely greeted and immediately seated. I ordered the Kale salad and my husband had the jambalaya. We loved both so much we brought our family back for dinner. The wine list is extensive. We really like the casual homey feeling of this place.... More

A bit formulaic, but nice. Ok wine selection. Nice small plates to go with wine. Friendly service. Excellent and unusual artichoke bruschetta. Bathroom floor was very sticky and a bit gross.

We went to the Barrel Room on a rainy night. They don't get a lot of those in San Diego, but in February 2017 there was this huge storm that hit southern California and really did a number on L.A., but not so much San Diego. Still, we were looking for someplace close to our hotel, with some vegetarian option,... More

We have gone here a couple of times now and have enjoyed it both times. Small and friendly place to go. Both times we have had drinks and food at the bar. Brian has been excellent both times and we look forward to our next visit. We started off with their version of bruschetta, burratta cheese, artichokes and arugula. The... More

We stumbled on The Barrel room and are very glad we did. The atmosphere was second to none and the staff were very friendly and helpful, I know it's a good place when my wife buys a Tee shirt :). I wish we could get back there one day

Great casual yet slightly upscale vibe, go here often mostly to the bar for drinks and appetizers. The cheese/meat/bread board is lovely. Great wine list, great service!
