The food is really good. If you have a hankering for a salad bar, stop at VR's. We've tried many menu items, and it's all really good. Had a tuna special a few days ago. Terrific.

Great place for dinner. Food was excellent and the staff was very good. The both the seafood and steak entrees were exceptional and the salad bar was very extensive. They have early bird and specials every night. Good wine list and very good desserts. Would go again when in the area.

We were looking for a good mid-range dinner spot for our last night of vacation. We came across Van Rensselaer's and its great reviews. It was the perfect combo of upscale and casual and we fit right in with our sweatshirts and sneakers (it was very chilly that day so we were bundled up). One of the best salad bars... More

We found this restaurant on our way to Provincetown. It was quiet and on the elegant side. We had a nice breakfast, nothing unusual but generous enough to satisfy. They had a real good cp of coffee!

The boiled lobster was probably overpriced but the service ( Karen ) was great. My husband's duck was perfect. We shared a peach cobbler with brandy and a latte which topped off the meal. They were closed the next two nights so we couldn't go back. Next time we'll go back.

The Hall's (owners) work hard every day to deliver an excellent dining experience. They have been doing this for many years and the results show. The menu is wide and deep and includes a strong seafood and beef list. There is a killer salad bar. Service is top drawer. VR's welcomes families with children and larger groups for special occasions.

We were seated very quickly, the service was slow to get started but once the waitress came she was very good. The duck was first class!! The sword fish was a bit bland but the mediterranean style options improved the flavours. The house malbec was really nice. The creme brulee was delicious and very large - good for sharing!! The... The seafood here was EXCELLENT!! In spite of the fact that Wellfleet Oysters were not being served (anywhere) due to a bacteria outbreak in the local beds. I had a perfect sesame crusted Ahi tuna for an app, while my wife had perfect (no marinara sauce) calamari. Blackened (cajun) scallops were my choice, and my wife had a seafood combo... More

Too crowded in season (probably says something there) Off season you can't beat the place. Salad bar is crisp and fresh, soup bar is also delicious. Plenty of choices on the menu and all are great. I had to baked cod, cooked to perfection. Maybe too many vegetables, but I guess that is good. My wife had the pan seared... More
