Bread is fresh, soft, and chewy just as it should be. Filling is a good portion and not so huge you want to burst when done. Picture is the last few bites, but was full of spinach, hummus, and yummy cream cheese. Fresh in-house baked goods change daily and are a perfect treat. I spent about the same here as... More

I usually get sandwiches there, the Angry Bird and Chicken Salad Supreme being my favorites. But, my son really likes their salads, so I tried the BLT salad and now it's my new favorite!!! Taco salad is awesome too!

The atmosphere is bright... More

We stopped for a sandwich at the Hungry Pelican based on the recommendation of two shop owners in Manteo. It's a very casual, deli-style restaurant where you order at the counter before going to get a seat. We loved the Angry Bird and the BBQ Chicken sandwiches. Both came with chips and a pickle. It was a nice find, especially... More

We were visiting the area and my group was most interested in local diners and fast food restaurants. Thanks to TripAdvisor, I was able to locate the Hungry Pelican and order their Wheatberry Veggie sandwich. It was fantastic.
