Although the wine selection is excellent the food is terrible. Some of the pastas have no taste, while other ones are so heavy on the herbs that you cannot taste anything else.

If your a looking for a nice place to have brunch, you just found it. The food is amazing, and the pace is beatifull and sofisticated. Dont miss it, even tough you cant grab brunch. It is also good for lunch time.

Went to brunch on a Saturday at 1:30. Had a reservation. Seated next to the cash register. Wagyu tartare was not that good, salmon crostini was fishy. Sausage overpowered the polenta and the shrimp in the shrimp and grits. Bloody Mary was a little too "hammy" for my taste. Service was excellent but didn't make up for uninspiring food. Won't... My wife and I were doing a local stay-cation in TriBeCa, heard this place was very very good and popped in later on Sunday night, ~ circa 930 PM. Even at that hour on a Sunday there were only a couple of two tops open, for a good reason. Everything from the food to the service to the scene and... More

Though the place is pleasant, the food is disappointing with canard a l'orange being nowhere near what was expected. Starters were good and wine (recommended by the waiter) not good enough. Seems to thrive on an unwarranted reputation

Our dinner reservation was at Locanda Verde, in the Greenwich Hotel in TriBeCa. Open since 2009, it's one of Andrew Carmellini's gaggle of restaurants; we had dined at his Little Park in October. "Locanda" in Italian is a local place to eat and drink, and indeed the clientele appeared more local than tourist. The relatively large space was divided by... More

We visited Locanda Verde after reading the reviews, and it totally lived up to expectations. The restaurant was really busy and buzzing, and the atmosphere was excellent. It is situated in the heart of TriBeCa, in downtown Manhattan. The meal itself was fantastic - all courses were top quality, especially the lamb sliders starter, and my pork three ways main... More

Been there rather often. Uneven: Want so much to like it, but it sometimes disappoints. Recent lunch for two: lots of room, but seated just inside the front door; worth a trip to enjoy their sheep's milk ricotta (no kidding), but fish, dessert less than ordinary. Wine by the glass just okay. Why?

The atmosphere is sumptuous, and the food is to die for. The staff is keenly aware of the ingredients in the dishes and maes sure celiacs are accommodated. The steak, chicken and sorbet were tasty. A must.

This place was busy, with a great buzz. The food was good although as a none meat-water I could have done with a few more veggie options. We had a lovely waiter who was particularly attentive with my 7yr old daughter. Special mention to the Special Dessert- chocolate/hazelnut/ caramel bananas/ ice cream... huge (too much for 3 people!) but divine.

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
