We met a few friends before a Broadway matinee at Nizza, primarily because it is around the corner from Schmackery's cookie store. Fortunately, the good reviews were true, and we enjoyed a nice meal of a variety of styles of food. The teens in our group, two of whom are vegetarians, ordered pizzas. The waiter said they were personal size... More

Small and atmospheric, Nizza hits the right tone, be that dinner or lunch. Nice bar selection if you're in for a quick drink and chat, and a lovely Med kitchen - with sage socca, superb Italian charcutterie, fantastic burrata - among our favourites. Mains include uncomplicated but flavour-boasting pasta, wonderful veggies, salmon, and a range of classical Italian meat dishes.... More

Based on other reviewers comments, we went her for dinner before the theater. And we were NOT disappointed. Had the best spaghetti carbonara maybe ever and the others in my party were equally satisfied with their meal. The brick chicken was especially tasty and moist. And desserts - oh, so good we each ordered our own and it could have... More

Went to Nizza for a leisurely lunch before a Sunday matinee. We were promptly seated (had a reservation) and enjoyed excellent service by Lawrence. Three of us split the Burrata pizza as a starter (tomato, burrata, squash blossoms, zucchini), which was excellent. For mains, we had a pasta carbonara, the grilled chicken salad with pears and walnuts and a mushroom... More

Happened upon this charming restaurant just walking around NYC. We were delighted to find a friendly waiter who wAs very attentive. I had the Wood Fired Piccante Pizza and my wife had the shrimp scampi. Both were delicious. My only complaint is that my wife kept stealing my crust when I wasn't looking. Delicious.

Good neighborhood place to eat after a Broadway show. They are known for their pizzas but the eggplant parmesan, brussell sprouts and salmon were very good and cooked as requested. Arugala salad with beets and vinagrette dressing was large and tasty. Service was a little slow but the server was attentive but not intrusive.

I have walked by here many times when in town, so finally made reservations and ate here for a quick pre-theater dinner on a Friday night. I'm so glad we did! Such a quaint spot with a perfect location on 9th at 45th. We had a great waiter, though his name escapes me. He recommended the eggplant appetizer, which was... More

If you are in the theatre district and want to walk over to 9th Avenue for a wonderful lunch go to Nizza. I had a great grilled chicken with kale. The salad was very tasty and plentiful. Also had the chick pea torte which was light and tasty.

Thank Diane P

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
