Wife and I found this place years ago and schedule our trips to NYC around either lunch or dinner (or both) ... wifey always gets the Pho (beef) but I mix it up ... everything we've ever tried is great & very economical !

Pho is so simple, yet there are so many places that can mess it up. Grand Pho is solid, but not spectacular. Although all the traditional pho options are here, I feel like I can get better if I search it out. It's a little more fusiony than a traditionally Pho place, but still very good..

We stumbled across this restaurant but would definitely go back. The food was clearly fresh, more pan asian than exclusively Vietnamese but quite possibly the chef/owner is Chinese Vietnamese because none of the dishes seemed out of place. Some of the best summer rolls i've had and very nice, crisp veggies.

We like this restaurant and visit it as much as possible. We had Vegetarian Spring rolls and Singapore Noodles. To this a glass of wine and a Singha beer. All was good and fine but it was so cold in the restaurant and the ceiling fan was on. IT WAS FREEZING COLD!!!!!

This is a great little Vietnamese restaurant offering a break from the hubbub and pretension of Soho. Having been to Vietnam before, this felt authentic and the portions were generous and food tasty. I had the Tofu with vegetables and my partner the chicken curry although we struggled to choose as the menu is full of good things. They also... More

Strolling through Chinatown made us hanker (natch) for Chinese food, so we were a tad skeptical when our docent at the Museum at Eldridge Street recommended a pho shop. But she was spot on. Grand Pho's menu ranged from the eponymous Vietnamese soup to Thai specialties and to Chinese classics. Ordering from the lunch menu, we found the vegetables in... More

I stopped in for lunch on a whim to try some Vietnamese pho which I'd never had. The waitress was cold bordering on rude. She wasn't the least bit helpful in explaining anything. She left the check for $8.45 on the table which I then took up to the cashier and handed him $15. He said "thank you" and stared... More

So far, this place serves as the best Vietnamese in NYC for me. From the Pho, summer rolls, vermicelli noodles with beef, papaya salads and more - all are authentically served and very affordable. It's a great place for groups or for small parties to try a lot of varying items on the menu. It's always quite busy, but also... More

This is a great Vietnamese restaurant known for its grilled meat over rice sticks. Also a great pho bo (beef stew), They also have a standout avocado shake. We have been going to this restaurant for 10+ years and it remains consistently good.

We are here on our first night in NYC as it was across from the apartment we were renting. The food was tasty and super affordable. Get the barbecue pork pho. It's delicious!

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
