Created fantastic memories during a trip from the Uk with my family. Daughter had to book several months in advance and it was a hassel trying to meet the strict table attendance requirements. Food and drinks needlessly expensive compared to the quality. The location, more than made up for this though. Great memories

I use to have a dinner at this restaurant every time I´m visiting NY but this time it can be the last one. The food was just ok and the staff good as well but When I went to the toilet I just felt sick. The toilet was terrible dirty. If the employees use this toilet and serve the dinner... More

We visited again for brunch when we were in NYC and it did not disappoint. Old school place, we loved the linen tablecloths and feel of the place a window table overlooking the lake is a must. Great food again and good atmosphere you can talk and hold a conversation as the acoustics are good and recommend for a family... More

The service was fantastic, very attentive and quick! We were given some fresh bread and ice water upon being seated. Our waiter was new but still very kind and professional. We had the hamachi salad and the salmon. Both were absolutely delicious! The hamachi came with an avocado and wasabi dressing and beautiful fresh greenery. The salmon had a generous... More

Our walk thru Central Park last weekend took us past the Boathouse. As a party of 9, we decided to skip the hour wait for the brunch and just use the walk up cafe. Big mistake. The service was non-existent and everyone's food, including the hot dog, was just not good. My daughter had the fruit bowl, no flavor and... More

We went here for a lunch time and used the express café, quick service and freshly made food and no problems finding a table. Food was very good and reasonably priced. I think one of the better places to eat lunch in New York and would definitely recommend this place

Everything on the menu is tasty and prepared to perfection. My favorite dish is Quiche Lorraine. I love the crab cake and the Tuna Carpaccio as well! Service is excellent, the view is relaxing and lovely! It's recommended to come before noon or make a reservation otherwise you might have to wait an hour but it's worth it!

Met two other couples for a weekend brunch---got there early, as it can book-up quickly. All six of us enjoyed each of our courses. We started with Bloody Mary's and oysters and the afternoon continued to get better. Of the choices my wife and I had, we loved both the Ahi Tuna Carpaccio and the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. Walking... I was there in a beautiful spring day, and the view is really nice. And that's about it. Expect long lines (45 minutes or more). Expect average, overpriced food. Expect a service that is clearly trying to get you out of there as soon as they can. It could be an extremely nice place, but because it is so crowded... More

Description
With their 1858 landscaping plan under construction, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux began adding architectural features to their Park design. Around 1874, Vaux designed a two-story boathouse at the eastern end of the Lake. Here visitors could purchase refreshments, take boat rides, and watch other boats. After this wooden Victorian structure with sloping mansard roof burned down, the current Loeb Boathouse took its place in the 1950s. Today at the New York Boathouse visitors can enjoy a meal in any season, with overhead heating helping to extend as long as possible the pleasure of dining on the deck overlooking the Lake. Come visit a New York legend!
