We were very excited to have a meal at Scarpetta, and it was fabulous up until the entrees. The breads were great, the Apps were great. But the entrees were disappointing. Too many great places in NYC to have mediocre entrees

This restaurant requires credit card guarantee when booking 6 people or more. Food is quite good. For that type of restaurant I expected it could be even better. Most wines are in 3 digits range.

We visited this spot a few years ago and both the food and service were as good as we remembered. Their spaghetti is the best we’ve had outside of Italy and the black tagliotini (colored black because of squid ink) was great. The brussel sprouts...More

We had a group dinner at two tables situated at the front of the restaurant. The tables were fine, but the place was VERY noisy overall, the worst feature of the meal. Luckily, the food was quite good. We had a series of appetizers and...More

The bar is perfect for solo diners. It is small and cozy. If you want to enjoy a table, do it. Their service will be top notch no matter the number of guests!

Description
Scarpetta is LDV Hospitality's signature restaurant concept that first launched in New York's Meatpacking District. The Italian expression, "fare la scarpetta," describes the gesture of taking the little boot-shaped piece of bread to soak up the remaining sauce left in the pot of one's home kitchen. In 2008, Scarpetta received a James Beard nomination for 'Best New Restaurant in America' as well as a coveted three-star review from the New York Times.
