We heard this was a good place for European dishes. So we went to have Vienner Schnitzels that we like a lot. Aside from Austria (and Milan where they are called "Milanese") the best are prepared in Amsterdam. We happen to know about Schnitzels. When a Schnitzel is done while the meat is still very cold the breaded top does... More

This little 4 Star restaurant is closing in April. So sad. The place was a welcome find near Carnegie Hall where everything else is crowded and noisy. Seasonal is a trendy little restaurant that pays attention to every little detail, and gets it all right. Will leave a gaping hole in my favorites.

Stumbled on "Seasonal" purely by chance, then checked on TripAdvisor. Very pleased that i chose to dine here. I am not an expert on Austrian food, however the weiner schnitel was as light as a feather - best i have ever had. And the wine degustation to match my courses was excellent.

Seasonal is a treasure and a great find in the Carnegie Hall area. The food is fantastic and one of the two owners is usually on the floor checking on guests. Attention is paid to every detail, from food to ambiance. The noise level is comfortable, the lights are low (but not too much), and the staff is quite knowledgable... More

My wife and I reserved in Seasonal, one of our favorite restaurants in Midtown. But what a disappointment. When we arrived and got the menu, we were totally confused. Greek food and Greek wine by the glass? We asked the waiter and were told that the management changed. We replied that we booked online and checked the menu, which shows... More

When I think Austrian food I think heavy, roll me out the door, food. Not here. The cuisine is light, balanced and intricate. The restaurant is intimate and well-located behind the Essex House. I have been thee multiple times now and will continue to patronize this amazing place.

We stopped by this place for lunch and we loved it! The service was fantastic and so was the food. We had the three course lunch. I had the butternut squash soup and the spätzel as well as the dumpling for dessert! My lunch date ordered the poached egg and Wiener schnitzel and had the greek yogurt for dessert. The... More

Went here recently for some Gruner V. with Austrian foods and found instead menu chaos. Restaurant is apparently in transition to a Greek menu. Nothing wrong with Greek food except when you want Austrian. Unfortunately, the new owner and Maitre'd seemed to view the change our fault as patrons. Wait staff worked hard to smooth things over but still a... More

Seasonal has been our favorite restaurant in New York for the last few years. Its refined Austrian cooking and excellent Austrian wines were a standing reminder of why it has a Michelin star. We may have to rethink our choice. The restaurant has a new owner who is committed to offering Greek food. The chef is unchanged, and some of... More

Over the years together, Wolfgang Ban and Eduard Frauneder have perfected their own modern take on Austrian cuisine - one which combines traditional techniques, contemporary innovations, and updates to some of their favorite childhood dishes. The team behind the prestigious private catering group, Elderberry Catering, chefs Ban and Frauneder, together with a small group of investors, have opened Seasonal Restaurant & Weinbar, their first venture open to the public. Their goal is to provide elegant home-cooking in a sleek but welcoming setting. The chefs at Seasonal pride themselves on maintaining the utmost quality in their cuisine, and therefore, consistent with its name, the kitchen uses only the freshest seasonal ingredients. The visual presentation of each plate is the final step in the process, and the chefs have ensured that the look of each plate matches the refinement of the food itself and the decor, creating an unforgettable dining experience.

Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
