This so one of the best pre-theatre dinners in midtown Manhattan. The price-fixe is $39, and the portions are full size. Choices consist of a three course menu, and the variety is excellent. We started with a basket of wonderful breads. We had the Ceasar Saladin and clam chowder for appetizers. Both were delicious. For entrees we had the lamb... More

The Capital Grille located in NYC's Chrysler building is beautiful. Most of the seating areas reflect the leather-seated, dark wood steakhouses of days gone by. There isn't a bad seat in the place. I always choose the seating area with the angular glass ceiling. It's an unusual setting with an expansive feel and one can look straight up to see... More

I wanted to take a moment and acknowledge a job well done. I had the pleasure of having dinner at this location on March 4th. I was in NYC for the weekend with family for my cousins 35th birthday and to my horror our Saturday night reservations were cancelled. We called around and were able to get a reservation for... Group of 10 people, all agreed that everything was outstanding. great wine selection with a very generous pour. The Sommelier was very friendly and knowledgeable. right away, bread was served, it was really nice basket of mixed grissini and warm breads. Appetizers were served in a nice presentation. steaks were top of the line, very little fat on my rib-eye.... More

Had a wonderful dining experience beginning with the wonderful server, Mike, at the bar who prepared a beautiful Stoli martini with infused pineapple vodka. Our server, Michael and his assistant Mohammed were both excellent and our water glass was always filled, our bread basket was full and the service was wonderful. We both loved the lamp chops and mashed potatoes... More

My first visit to this restaurant (after seeing a show). They do offer a theatre menu (if you know to ask for it). The choices for your entree include salmon, steaks or lamb. Everything was delicious (salad, entree, side, dessert). We had an excellent server as well! I would definitely go back to this restaurant next time I am in... More

I arrived on a Thursday night around 7:00 in the evening without a reservation. Although there was only one of me, I figured no way would I get in. The greeter offer me a seat in the bar but we both realized it was so packed there was no way I would get a seat. She quickly checked out the... More

I walked into the Capital Grill on a Thursday night around 7:00 PM workout a reservation. The greeter offered me a spot at the bar but we both looked in and it was packed. No seat there. She then took a quick look around the dining area and found me a nice table. Although there was only one of me,... More

I needed a place to have a snack between my interview at the UN and before a speaking competition @ NY Toastmasters. So happy they are open all day. Lovely decor, wonderful staff, and fab food. I had the fresh oysters on the 1/2 shell. Some of the best I've ever had, and I'm a real connoisseur! Fresh greens with... More

We come to this restaurant more often than any other for a dependably great evening meal, especially before a Carnegie Hall concert or Broadway performance. The pre-theater meal at $39 (for salad, entree, side, and dessert) is unbelievably fine -- the steak alone usually costs more. All you have to do is to request the pre-theater menu and order before... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
