Situated in the corner of Lexington and 27th the restaurant is hard to miss. The decor of the restaurant is subtle and well done. Now to the main topic of food, the papad that was served as I waited for my food was not completely...More

Bhatti has the best kebabs in Manhatten. They have really good and authentic North Indian food. The service is pretty good too. The place is small so make sure you reserve a table before you go.

Very good meal at Bhatti recently. We made a reservation with Open Table for 7pm on a Saturday night. We then invited a guest but could not modify on Open Table but they graciously changed it on the phone. We arrived a few minutes early...More

On a five-night visit to NYC, Bhatti was the only place we went back to more than once for dinner. As British citizens from the Midlands region, where curry-eating is practically a religion, we were delighted at finding good quality curry just around the corner...More

I booked this reservation on open table, and then called to ask if we could come an hour later and they said yes. We were seated immediately at 8:00 and people kept streaming in. The place was packed at 10:00pm on Christmas Day! Try not...More

Try their paneer tandoor appetizers. They are soft, well seasoned and overall great! Love their Dal Tadka.. The attention to service can improve a notch though...

Small restaurant, very cramped. Good food, authentic North Indian flavors, quick service, good ambience. Portions a bit small in my opinion but the prices are reasonable. I wanted Matar Paneer that wasn't on menu, but asked and they made it for us without problem! We...More

Description
Bhatti is an ultra-authentic north Indian restaurant in the heart of New York City that's refined yet affordable, upscale and still comfortable. Take your pick from a variety of kebabs and curries and watch as our master chefs work their magic at the Bhatti.

Bhatti Indian Grill is Indian food like you've never tasted-the flavors are unique, harmonious on the palate, a lot less of the overwhelming heat that's associated with Indian cuisine and something all together far more sophisticated. The recipes are rare finds even in India, where they're special treats sought out from master chefs. Bhatti is a real gourmand's restaurant-seriously made food with top-notch, educated service to do it justice.

Bhatti's mastermind Gaurav Anand had early opportunities to train and partner with India's master chefs and run a culinary empire in his home country. But a spark that ignited on his first trip to the Big Apple proved that Anand would have to act on even bigger aspirations. It was with this passion and his extensive knowledge of North Indian cuisine that he decided to open Bhatti Indian Grill in August 2009. Anand is also owner of the newly opened Moti Mahal Delux in Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Kebabs are the specialty of the house and they're anything but typical. The signature dish is Gilauti Kebab, which is steeped in history, originating in the province of Lucknow as a royal meal for a king who had lost his teeth in old age. Unwilling to let go of his dignity (and thereby his ability to eat meat), the king turned to the greatest kebab maker in the land, who devised a special marinade incorporating 160 spices resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth texture that didn't require any chewing. Anand is one of the few chefs to have learned the secrets to the recipe. The final product lives up to the legend- the rounds of lamb really do melt in your mouth like butter.
