Me and my wife had dinner here yesterday while visiting New York for our honeymoon, and both chose the prix fixe menu. Our impressions were mixed to say the least, so I will divide our opinions into positives and negatives. The conclusion is that it is fine food, but do not bother if you're expecting a Michelin star-level experience. Positives:... More

I have been here dozens of times: keep coming back; never disappointed. There are more expensive options in NYC, but none better. Consistently awesome food and impeccable service--will go back soon.

I was lucky enough to attend this restaurant as part of a private dining celebration dinner. The food was to die for and was exquisite and the staff were nothing but friendly, attentive and helpful at all times. I would highly recommend.

Impression-Very gluten friendly, attentive & smooth flowing service, fantastic food, great atmosphere, very adequate wine by the glass selection, extensive wine list, very expensive We arrived at 11:55 for a 12:00 lunch reservation. Our coats were checked and we were promptly seated in the dining room after passing through the bar area. The dining room is beautiful, light without being... More

Could not secure a dinner reservation at a time that worked but enjoy a wonderful lunch. I opted for the two course lunch while my spouse had three all of which were excellent. We should have passed on desert but didn't. Service excellent as you would expect. I actually think lunch is something of a bargain.

I make it a point to spend as much time as possible in any Jean Georges restaurant in NYC, luckily there are quite a few of them-the food is always creative, fresh and over the top delicious. His 1 Central Park restaurant is fancy, truly white table cloth service,---the bar area restaurant Nougatine is much less formal but still magnificent--either... More

What I liked best was the friendly service provided by Erik Entrada. He answered every question, provided extras for me which made the evening spectacular. I had the Chef's tasting menu, but I exchanged the fish for the sea ur him prep. I actually ordered a second portion, but without sauce, for the delicate taste. The lobster and squab servings... They seated us immediately, new our names, and wished us Happy Anniversary. Every dish was tasty and had been adapted to be gluten free. Ambience is pleasant and the service is flawless.

I was there for my birthday dinner and once they heard about it, they brought me a birthday cake! Everything was perfect and an experience for your senses. The food made me feel very emotional, it was that good. We sat opposite of a strange company of three and one of them fell asleep in her food (?!), despite this,... More

Description
Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.
