To start with the atmosphere - this place has found the perfect balance between casual and high end. The decor is a well executed combination of simple and relaxed, but top quality and well thought out features. I love that the wine storage is integrated into the interior design without compromising on its functionality. We came for a pre-theatre dinner... More

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in all of NYC. The ambiance, the service and the food - unparalleled! the flavors are so delicious, and detail of each dish is perfectly prepared, and the wine addition is spot on every time. So much fun to dine there too! anything with ragu is heavenly!

Visited Maialino to celebrate close friend's birthday. The overall experience is very positive, and what is always welcome, is the trend of "included hospitality" in non-tipping restaurants. This venue offers a wide range of brunch cocktails that goes beyond your classic Bloody Marys and Mimosa that most of New York venues offer (e.g. "wrong" Negroni, with refreshing Prosecco in place... I was one of over 20 post-concert guests invited to dine. From the antipasti through the dessert, we were offered a variety of very well prepared dishes. I'm not a wine drinker, but I heard no complaints from the other attendees about its quality. The service was excellent, and the setting was well suited to allow for a relaxed, almost... More

A friend and I went to lunch at Maialino and we both opted for the prix fixe menu (plus delicious aperol spritzers). It was a cold and rainy afternoon, but the ambiance of the restaurant - the warn and inviting decor plus the view of Gramercy Park - was just perfect. I ordered the polpo and the buccatini and my... In searching for a good Italian establishment I found this wonderful restaurant. The service was attentive and right on time since I was having dinner before a business meeting and had only a small window of opportunity. Needless to say the food was prepared the way it was meant to be. Malfatti al dente with tender pieces of pork topped... More

We started by waiting 20 minutes for an 8 p.m. reservation for two, which was really no problem. But when we the host came to take us to our table, she said the wine were drinking was on them because of the wait. Everyone was friendly, from the hosts to the bartender to the severs. Our server was a big... More

The experience was nothing special I should say very basic. The food is good and staff also kind but we was not impressed we had some pasta, too much cooked, the fish and meat was good. The bar area is very loud and difficult to talk. The restaurant is more quite and the service better.

Went with friends getting a last minute reservation. Wonderful meal, great service and lovely setting. Pastas were all delicious and generous - also creative mixtures linked to traditional approaches. Fried artichokes to start were fantastic and there is a tremendous selection of excellent wines. Worth a detour in NYC - another Danny Meyer's standout.

Went for a business lunch and ordered the bucatini all'amatriciana. Pasta was outstanding! Cooked just right (al dente). Pasta was flavorful and perfect texture. Sauce was also very good. Pancetta was extremely flavorful. Cleaned the plate with bread and left nothing behind. All other pasta entrees looked very good. Service was very attentive and cordial. Interior was pleasant and comfortable.... More
