Right down the street from the hotel we were staying at for trade show. Superb Italian food. We had the lasagna, eggplant, squash ravioli and salads. Impeccably prepared. Desserts were heavenly (gelato). Raspberry bellinis were perfect too. Handsome real Italian waiter knew his stuff, was gracious and professional. Wish we remembered his name, he was going to college studying to... More

I ate here last night with my friend. The staff were attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious. I had the ravioli which was very nice, however, it was a small portion and I could've done with 4 more pieces to be honest, but it was still very tasty. The restaurant itself is small and cosy with a rustic feel.... More

We stopped into Mercato for a bite to eat and were treated to a superb meal. The decor is rustic and Italian. Very authentic. The Linguine de Mar was excellent. Full of fish and flavour. Excellent choice. The Tiramsu was just wonderful to finish off our meal. I would recommend Mercato if you like good Italian food. No Pizzas here.

I would give this restaurant 5 stars, but since I wound up hugging the toilet 6 hours after dinner and no alcohol, so I wanted to warn other diners, and I haven't been this sick in years so it's far from normal for me. The atmosphere is super nice, the waiters and the food are excellent but they served my... More

I'm a New Yorker. I know what real Italian food is supposed to be. It isn't this. The best part of the meal was the bread. Arugula salad was good. But the main course. Terrible. I had lasagna. And it isn't hard to make. But they brought out this mushy pile of who knows what. Looks like it's been reheated... More

The food was delicious. I highly recommend having a reservation if you visit as bar seating is rather limited.

What a Rip off ! When you think of an Italian restaurant, you think eating a good pasta. Well in this restaurant the pasta tastes like frozen meal. Not more than FROZEN MEAL. Seriously, how hard is it to make a good pasta ? I don't understand how people still go there... I also fell into the TRAP myself too.... More

Great food, huge portion sizes. Tiny, tiny restaurant. Locals eat here. Not sure how crowded it gets during travel season, but off season we had to book a table. Their coffee is really good. Very romantic setting, especially for dinner. I consider this a mid-range place at about $20-$30 a plate, because it's NYC and "fine dining" is considered $100... More

Cozy little place a bit out of the way but not too inconvenient for a "pre MSG" dinner. Tasty homemade pasta, fresh salads and yummy desserts. Service was attentive. Drinks were a bit on the light side.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
