When I am in town I like to stop here at east once. They always have good beer specials, like $4 for a Bud Light. I had a chicken wrap and it was big and full of great tasting meat! The fries rocked too. I think I got Cajun. Place is small so when it fills up it's kind of... More

Tasty libations and fun atmosphere are what you will find at the Social Bar! Friendly bartenders add to the lively patrons creating a New York Happy Hour! You can skip the pretzel bites, but otherwise a fun night on the town.

We spent Christmas day in NYC and we were searching for a warm place not too busy. The Social bar and Grill has been the ideal place: the music was good and not too loud, we could find seats at the bar and we had a delicious meal. The waitress was efficient and she served us with a smile. This... More

loved it as soon as we walked in. not sure about the poor reviews as we found it great with great staff, very friendly and polite. awesome food (they reckon their fries are the best in the city) and a good range of beers. I sampled a few and all were excellent. we were brought glasses of cold water whilst... More

We stopped in for a late lunch after a walk through Central Park. We were seated right away by our waitress and throughout the lunch she was very attentive. We ordered the BLT and the grilled chicken cesar wrap, both great as part of the lunch menu that came with a beer. The price was average for the city. We... More

There is no hostess desk at this place and the staff was much more interested in chatting amongst themselves (including some employees who appeared to be coming off a prior shift) than in helping guests and waiting tables. We searched the place ourselves for a place to sit down while staff did nothing along the way. While sitting there waiting... More

Great spot for happy hour, good deals until 8PM, and decent prices all around, which is especially nice in that neighborhood. It's noisy but then it gets quieter at 8, great time to switch to food and conversations. Regular bar food, good selection. The staff is super friendly, informative, and fast. We especially appreciated Pamela - she was charming, available,... More

With so many great bars in Manhattan, this one is to be avoided. Service is weak, the drinks and food are sub par. So many better places in the city to spend the evening...

Stopped here with my 70 year old Mom for a bite before a show. Turkey burger with salad and buffalo chicken wrap with fries were both really good. Beers and food served quickly - would definitely stop back. Random, but the bar stools didn't feel terribly sturdy. I would not have noticed if it weren't for my mom; just sharing... More

We found this gem of a place on our last night in New York. What a great end to our holiday. We popped in for a beer mid afternoon and liked the place so much we came back for a late dinner! The staff were very friendly and service was very quick. We went with a recommendation of a Thai... More

Occupying 3 enormous & well-realized floors in Hell’s Kitchen, this newcomer combo won't be hard to find. In the back of the 1st floor sits a sensible & roomy collection of tables where generous helpings from a full-service kitchen supports Social's exertion as a formidable all purpose haunt. A staircase that's been thoughtfully accented leads to a 2nd floor, which marks a half way point between the leisurely neighborhood dynamic of the first floor's pub & the 3rd Floor Cocktail space and Roof Deck. The west side of the second floor staircase houses a "Pub Room" with dark wood furnishings that complete a stylish interpretation of a modern & traditionally fused Celtic lodge hybrid, complete with a smaller bar that's highly serviceable but intended for its own private corner of this roomy complex.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
