Great start to the holiday. Recommended in many youtube vlogs like The Fung Bros, thought we'd drop by for a quick and cheap lunch. We were not disappointed. Portions were large and flavourful - We went for wanton noodles and braised beef cheung fun. Not sure what to order - point at the large pictures laid across the walls. We... More

This restaurant is a piece of chinatown history. It has been there since I was a kid, having undergone renovations and a reopening. Through the years though, one thing is for sure - their buns are consistently delicious and addictive. My favorites include their pork bun, sweet bun, chicken bun, and, of course, the big bun (with meat, egg, veggie,... More

This is the best place for dumplings in the world. This place is cheap and good. You can get a variety of items without breaking the bank. Clean. Polite. Authentic. Local. No frills. Not "romantic".

We went during lunchtime but were provided a dinner menu, rice is a side order (doesn't come with the dish) and foot was over cooked.

Not so much a bakery as it is a Chinese Food restaurant. Most of the items on menu are dinner selections, but their pork & chicken buns, both baked and fried (thus the Bakery name) seem to be the items of choice. People line up out the door to purchase these buns by the dozens. One reason: the prices for... More

Use to eat here regularly and was a staple in Chinatown coffee houses. Ate here for first time in long time in September, but recently when I walked by, I noticed it was closed for violations. Not sure what the problem was, but it was OK in September, but nothing spectacular or special except that it has been around a... More

We order take out food here all the time we hit New York City Chinatown, and bring it back home. The brown bun and the sio mai are excellent and really tasty. You can freeze them and just take whatever you want to eat and put them under the microwave for a minute or two. Great take out food.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
