From the warm welcome on a cold night, to the suggestions and expertise and care of our server Waverly who was a great reason to be there, to the kindness and guidance for wonderful food and wine, we will always be grateful to having dined to what was formerly an "unknown" restaurant and is now a place we look forward... The place is good. The food is very good. We had the chicken and the seafood salad special and a few entrees. Nice sheep cheese fur desert. The portion are small so no hearty big meal like you get in their sister Italian restaurants. Service was a bit if a dive. Couldn't be bothered. Little attention and effectively missing in... More

The place itself is beautiful including the staff. They were all very friendly and the food was really tasty BUT with 4 kids aged 17-21 the portions are tiny and each plate is around $16. We left $185 lighter and not full. We are not big eaters! More style than substance.

Don't go expecting a romantic, fine dining experience. You are inches away from your neighbour. It gets very busy, perhaps too busy (certainly for us). The dishes are tapas style, but not cheap for what you get - 2 small dishes, 1 drink each (1 beer, 1 coke) $75. I like a busy atmosphere, but this was taking that to... More

This place is a fantastic little find, in a really pretty typical New York street, you will have a wait as it is very popular, but there are chairs outside, they put your names in chalk on the door frame, very funky. A small menu but enough choice. I had the waffle breakfast sandwich and it was the best breakfast... More

I can't think of many better places for a weekend breakfast. The food was amazing. Be there early, or there will be a queue.

We grabbed a seat at the elegant marble-topped bar and enjoyed a delicious brunch. Vintage styling extended to coupe glasses for Champagne and gorgeous little carafes for fresh squeezed juice. Steamed eggs with jamon was absolutely delicious. Tables are tiny so we'd recommend to sit up at the bar and watch the friendly staff doing their thing. Highly recommended.

Waited in the freezing cold for 45 minutes but was worth it once we got a seat at the bar. They did nice juices, good coffee and a very tasty Croque Monsieur.

Parisian style bistro in the west village. Home style cooking. Local ingredients with well executed dishes. Cozy atmosphere with a homely twist. Good service and friendly staff. Small menu with good choices. Eggs particularly good.

If you are visiting New York City for any amount of time, you should definitely eat in Buvette. This is not just any French restaurant. It is the best one. It has a small menu, which is a good thing. The starters are the best thing, and there is usually a great rillette on it. The menu changes a lot,... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
