Really good food. I had green curry and my girl had Pad Thai. My green curry was very good, really fresh flavours and very flavoursome. I picked sticky rice with my curry, which again was nice. Only downside was the portion size, the sticky rice was not much more than a desert spoon size, and the actual curry was too... More

Visited here yesterday evening and was very impressed. The service was great and the food was amazing (a lot of variety and you can choose your staple meat/tofu). The restaurant has a nice ambience. The cocktails were also fantastic (we had muay Thais). The only flaw is it is very busy and quite small so can be quite noisy but... More

Came here last time I was in NYC, and was on my list to come back next time I was in NYC. Didn't disappoint, excellent food, great service at a reasonable price. Chicken Pad Thai was excellent again as was the mixed grill appetizer.

Walked in found the place buzzing , which is a good sign , of a restaurant doing well . Got a table after 20 mins ,so stepped next door for a drink . Placed our orders and Service was quick and efficient . The papaya salad was brought instantaneously , which meant it was pre prepared and kept ,and was... More

As NYC haunts great, this place is very reasonable. Not the fanciest restaurant but doesn't matter because the food is so yum. Very good Thai food. Wine not expensive, especially in comparison to NYC standards

We visited this quirky place after looking on TripAdvisor. We were very pleased. As usual in NYC they pack you in. There is a similar style restaurant in Manchester UK called Thai Kuhn, meaning street food. Quirky rustic style interior. Good menus, drinks as always quite expensive but that is NYC. The bill has tip recommendation based on different percentages... More

Not crowded for lunch and many light options. Had their homemade chicken soup- nice asian flavor. Spring rolls perfect for sharing. Definitely an improvement on traditional 'neighborhood' Thai restaurant. Will definitely be back

Decided to go here for a date night. Tight spaces between tables, which is ok by me. I enjoyed their cocktail menu (the B&B and ginger caipiroska). I had the "dark knight." Honestly would have given this restaurant a 5/5 if the calamari in this dish was more flavorful. My wife had the spicy drunken noodle and it was incredible.

Ngam has probably some of the best Thai food in the city. Chef Hong Thaimee takes a different perspective on traditional thai dishes. Pad Thai with Zucchini. Thai burger. Everything feels that she is utilizing the freshest local ingredients and it just gives you a sense of eating healthy but with bold flavors.

Food - generous portions, great tofu, good chicken, quick to deliver, very nice bowls Service - you have the option of sitting at the bar or waiting for a table, the wait on saturday pm was c45m so I took a bar seat, service was quick and reliable Experience- hybrid authentic Thai atmosphere with the busy yet friendly big-city vibes

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
