We visited early on a Saturday night pre-theatre. Though we had intended to order the prix fixe, but preferring to avoid dessert, we ordered from the main menu while our companions both had the prix fixe. The grilled octopus was delightful - best I've ever had. Main course was rigatoni w eggplant served piping hot and nicely seasoned. Others had... More

We decided to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary at the Leopard after having two wonderful meals there separated by three years. I can say without doubt that the quality, consistency, incredibly romantic ambiance, innovative food and amazing service leaves nothing to be desired. Not often we find a restaurant can provide those consistent levels of service year after year! We... More

Tonight my husband and I dined at The Leopard before a Met Opera performance. The food was brilliant, especially the gnocchi with mushrooms and sage. There was a beautiful, sweet vegan butternut squash soup also to start the meal. Then we had duck - my hubby- and lobster risotto (perfectly prepared) for me. To end the meal we enjoyed a... More

The Leopard was recommended by a friend for brunch prior to a broadway show. We arrived for Sunday Brunch at our appointed time and where warmly greeted. Our coats where taken and reservation time checked and immediately escorted to our table. The decorations are up-scale and nicely appointed. Service was good and attentive and our water glasses refilled often. Nice... More

Great meal and service. The murals(large nudes) are still there from the famed predecessor in this spot. They do a "Sunday Supper" that permits a BYO with no corkage fees, a real treat in NYC. I can say we forgot and had an excellent bottle, mid-priced at $60. Recommended by the Sommelier. Food is very good, well prepared and creative.... More

Went there for my husband's birthday! Superb martini at the bar and the blond girl making it was very pleasant and welcoming. After asking her, she made some food suggestions to us and they were great! It was restaurant week as well and their menu was reflecting cuisine from 3 different Italian regions on different days. Even though restaurant week... More

Had dinner at the former Café des Artistes, reopened in 2011 as The Leopard at des Artistes. The best thing about it is still the wonderful murals of nude wood nymphs by Howard Chandler Christy that still grace the walls. The restaurant opened in 1917, designed for the residents of the Hotel des Artistes, since the apartments lacked kitchens. Artists... More

I had not visited this location for many years and was interested to try with new management and cuisine. The initial arrival on Christmas evening was welcoming.Cocktails at the bar were perfect and service was obliging as we requested to move to a roomier table in the main room. Throughout dinner the service continued to be top class. The food... More

Lovely restaurant with interesting art and very good food. The service was very good and the restaurant is very cozy and nicely lit. Our only complaint when we were there on a cold December day is it was cold inside the restaurant. Apparently the front door has a flap that is supposed to keep the cold air out; however, such... Located in the New York landmarked Hotel Des Artistes, and surrounded by the astonishing 1920s murals by Howard Chandler Christy, THE LEOPARD at des Artistes finds its roots in the area once known as “The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies” (mid 1800s) and in the culinary traditions of the regions of Campania, Basilicata, Calabria, Apulia, Sardinia, and of course Sicily, reaching a balance between dishes based on rural elements, such as pasta, vegetables, cheese, and seafood ingredients from the Costiera.
