We enjoyed a pleasant Sunday brunch here. Nice diverse set of food choices. Everyone was happy and full! Service was earnest and well intended, but we had at least 5 different people bring food items, so there was a bit of disjointedness.

The manager of the restaurant said he wanted my "feedback," so here goes: Eat somewhere else. Chilling red wine is, to my mind, a criminal offense. Chilling is perfect for White Wine, but with red, it destroys the flavor by buttoning it up. So they chill their red wine, they don't like using salt (which, from a health standpoint is... More

The place is very nice but the service is really bad and the food is nothing special. We wanted to try the veggie burger and that is good but overall the food is super heavy - you feel it on your stomach for hours. Cocktails are good but the barman is so impolite that it's better choosing another place.

This is a great place for drinks or a meal. It has a very good energy to it and the food and service is great. The drinks too are very innovative though a tad on the expensive side.

Lovely hip place. It was a little busy when we got there but that is normal for NYC. Good food. Great and very helpful staff.

The bar has a cool vibe, the cocktails are great all night with service. Fabulous burger topped with a fried egg, this is a top place for an evening out with friends.

Happened upon this restaurant while we were looking for a non-Italian restaurant (I love Italian, but had eaten at quite a few during my trip and I was looking for a heavy appetizer and craving something a little different). We got in without reservations. I ordered the fried oysters (oddly enough, if I remember correctly, they come from Puget Sound... More

Had a fabulous dinner here. Its a small place and a bit loud but trendy and filled with people enjoying themselves. The menu is very interesting and varied, and the bar has won awards. The mushroom pate was great as were my friend's oysters, via her report. I had the half chicken which was delicious, and the Brussel sprouts--let me... More

We took our grand daughter, a junior at NYU, there for brunch. The service, drinks and food were all very good to excellent. My eggs, a variety of Benedict, with a bed of spinach and matalista ham had a great combination of flavors. The house bloody Mary was excellent wit just the right amount of fresh veggies and a peppery picante... More

Walked in for brunch. Wait for table was forty-five minutes so decided to sit at bar. Great view of bartenders masterfully mixing concoctions. The Orange Spritz was refreshing and delicious. My hanger steak salad was grilled perfectly and salad was dressed lightly -- just as I like. It was delicious. There were many relaxed groups brunching all around us.

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
