Food was reasonably good, but all portions were excesibely large. Abundant is fine, but being grotesque is not.

Food was generous and bloody may's strong. Fun to have jazz playing in the background. It wasn't too loud even being close by - able to still have a conversation. Worth the trip!

Cafe Loup is always special! We've been coming for nearly 20 years. The menu has changed somewhat. Salads were good. Soups were good, too. My duck confit is always excellent! Friends had the chicken and the duck cassoulet - both were good. Service is always warm and personal. A favorable dinner experience, once again!

I love this place. I go every time I'm in NYC. It's a great place to have a drink at the bar. The bar man is efficient and makes sublime cocktails. The food is great. I had mussels on my recent visit. They were perfect.

The ambience is great, the bartender is total old school, the food is consistently the best in our area of Chelsea! Always a good time! And very reasonable. If you want to imagine you're in europe with an American bill this is the place

Good neighborhood french bistro just south 14th street. Nice selection of medium priced french wines. Service was fine. The salads and fish entrees were tasty. Nothing fancy but comfortable setting for a quiet meal with friends. You can drop in on some week nights without reservations.

Cafe Loup is a lovely place to dine. Food is excellent and so is the service. The dinning room is quiet so you can converse. Sunday Brunch is a favorite especially if Junior Mance is playing the piano.

The restaurant is just a block away from Walker Hotel where we were staying. My cousin treated us for dinner here as he frequents this place regularly. For Appetizers we had the Portobello Mushrooms, some Pate and Onion Soup. For our Mains we got a Bowl of Mussels, Fish and chips, Roasted Lamb, roasted Duck and the Pasta with Truffle... More

Cafe Loup is down the street from where I was staying, and is a favorite of transplanted New Yorkers I was visiting, so it was the choice for dinner. Lighting wasn't good enough to read the menu without a small flashlight, but the menu offered a fairly diverse selection. I had trout almondine, which was well prepared, though there were... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
