Our preferred dining scenario is going to a restaurant with an Omakase menu. We have dined at O Ya in Boston, Morimoto in NYC, Oishii in Boston, and Zuma in Miami. Nobu Next Door sadly came in last place when comparing to these other establishments. Even though we arrived a little early the hostess seated us right away. Unfortunately, this... More

The first time I went to Nobu Next Door was in October, 2001, about a month after the towers came down, when downtown was still covered with dust. The food, atmosphere, and service were outstanding. Since then, I've been a few times, and while I personally feel it has gradually gone downhill, it's usually been good enough to recommend. I... More

My wife had been to Nobu in Las Vegas twice in the last two years and found the food exquisite. She brought me to Nobu Next Door last night looking for somewhat of the same experience. Alas it was not to happen. The restaurant is very popular so it was crowded as to be expected. The music was a sort... More

I enjoyed a lunch here during summer. My only quibble is that the menu doesn't describe exactly what the dishes are - my husband ordered something that was full of mushrooms but not mentioned on the description.we would definitely ask for more detail in future-our fault for not asking server.the cocktails were pricey but delicious and I loved my sushi/sashimi lunch... This was our first time dining at one of the nobu locations in NYC. Nobu has a good reputation but we didn't know what to expect. We originally walked into Nobu, which is much larger, more formal and somewhat "fancier" looking restaurant before we realized that our reservation was at nobu next door, which was literally next door. The atmosphere... More

Sure the restaurant is small with virtually no waiting area so it seems even more crowded with the guests huddled on top of each other by the hostess stand, and we waited a good 20 minutes past our reservation, but as soon as the food came all was forgiven. We had the yellowtail sashimi appetizer (6/5!), Miso black cod (5/5),... More

We went there to celebrate my best friend's 30th birthday last Saturday. We had an amazing time. The service was flawless and the food delectable. All dishes were great but kudos to king crab tempura and black cod. I highly recommend this restaurant. A lovely discovery!

Nice ambiance and a perfect date spot. The black cod with miso is about the best prepared fish I've ever had. The mochi cream is great.

If you are looking for the fastest, or the most reliable, or the most beautiful, or the most economical, or the safest car; Mercedes Benz will tick none of those boxes. But yet, it remains a reasonably popular and desirable car. Nobu is a bit like MB. After leading the charge on ' new style' Japanese cuisine with reasonably swanky... More

Neighbourhood Profile
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
