We visited the place during a weekday ad we were hanging around Soho. The good was good and service was excellent, but when the bill came we thought it was overpriced. Be aware especially if you go with children that you might pay quite more for what you get.

We've know this place for a number of years. It maintains its attractive and good food. Waiters were superb, as usual. The place is just beautiful. It is obviously crowded and noisy... but this is Manhattan!! A bit expensive but worth a try.

This restaurant has a very good reputation and it's totally justified. We went for both brunch and breakfast. (Not on the same day!) The ambiance is true French, it's bustling, noisy and energetic. The food is great. We had eggs and pancakes which were excellent. They also offer a bakery basket which should be compulsory. The serves are of a... More

This is one of New York's finest restaurants. The food and the service excellent. It's well known it's a convenient location and the tracks people from all over the world. The owner has started a number of interesting placesand was formally the manager at 1/5 Ave. which is where I met my wife. Go here you will love the place

I try to be really honest in my reviews, as I read a lot of reviews myself before booking hotels and restaurants. This place is amazing, with really great food. We've had some really poor brunch experiences in NY and some really good ones. We booked this through someone who lives in NY and they recommended it, so we didn't... More

This restaurant gave us a good French experience. The food and wine was good. I would recommend it for a good lunch. Not too formal.

Balthazar is just the best. Great food, great waiters (sorry I didn't get her name but she was perfection)! Never had a bad meal here. Pot de crème is to die for. Trout, short ribs = sigh. Cant wait to go again.

The food was delicious and the cremant by by the glass was very nice too! We had the escargot and the flavor was divine! My daughter had the eggs Benedict and I was enjoying my wine so just decided to have the French Onion soup! AMAZEBALLS!!!' I loved the atmosphere, our adorable server, and really had a nice brunch! Balthazar has always been a good option for a Monday get together. Even though we arrived shortly after 9:30pm, the place was still full and traditionally noisy. Good table selection and waiter - usually they do not disappoint. Decided on the daily fare - lambchops (sold out!) and had to stick to the duck confit, which was outstanding. My daughter... More

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
