It's this easy: everything is great. The food, the drinks, and especially the service. Kind of surprised to read reviews of lackluster service. Our server was personable, knowledgeable about everything on the menu, including wines, and really added to our enjoyment of the meal. We...More

There are not many good dining options in this neighborhood so I was pleased to find Alta. Among the three seating options..at the downstairs bar, downstairs dining room or upstairs balcony...I recommend the third. There are quiet tables for two around the perimeter of the...More

Alta is a very unassuming restaurant in the west village. The menu is very vegetarian-friendly, with small plates ranging from a delicious goat cheese and lavender honey appetiser, to a great falafel and roasted beets dish. The vegetarian options are vegetable heavy, but are flavourful...More

One of the best meals I've had in Manhattan. The focus is on small plates and tapas. Kinda of a Mediterranean-Spanish hybrid but more interesting and eclectic than regular Spanish tapas. We started with the bacon wrapped dates and olives. Very tasty. The wrapped olives...More

One of my favorite restaurants in NYC, not because it is a Michelin Star, but because it is unique and hidden in a random street in NYC. It's ambiance is mystic and seductive. They have small sharing dishes, but there are so many delicious options...More

The atmosphere is very appealing - the townhouse setting is very quaint. The food was good but the service was not. The server disappeared for long gaps and seemed fairly disinterested in being there. Could be much better with a different service experience

What appears to be a tiny, basement bar/restaurant under a townhouse in the Village is actually a 3 story home to some of the best small-plate dining in the city. We went at 6:30 pm, so it was pretty empty and quiet. I imagine it...More

Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.

It's better to make a reservation unless you'd like to come very early, around 6. But it's not a big deal, normally the same day or day before would work.
