A bit pricey but a warm, sunny room with very good food. Nice wine selection as well. I had a crab avocado salad that was delicious. There were also baked goods which looked yummy too. The room was beautiful. Try it!

Having arrived early before the gallery opening I had the opportunity to visit the cafe. A very civilized place to have a fine breakfast which I thoroughly enjoyed. I had originally hoped to have lunch but was simply to full from the breakfast. I cannot...More

Before touring the Neue we lunched at Café Sabarsky. Wood paneled walls and formal (but friendly) servers speak to upper East Side "old money." Very good menu selection. Perhaps a bit pricey for lunch but quality dishes and ample servings. Try the Bratwurst or the...More

The Neue Gallery was a wonderful experience especially the beautiful Klimpt. But instead of lining up before it opens duck into Cafe Sabarsky and have a strong coffee and a Viennese cake served on a silver tray. It was a beautiful atmosphere for an exceptional...More

It’s near the park, so please don’t complain about the $$. The schnitzel will run you $30. Expensive perhaps, but it’s a slammin’ schnitzel....More

This small cafe inside the Nueue Galerie Art Museum of German and Austrian Art served me the best bowl of goulash soup with potatoes that I have ever eaten when my wife and I had lunch there a couple of days ago. Even better than...More

If I had reviewed Cafe Sabarsky during the first few years of its opening, I would have rated it "excellent," instead of the "very good" rating today. The "very good" rating is based on its ambience - a wonderful Viennesse cafe - shades of Cafe...More

Freshly prepared food and delicious dessert. Always crowded and you can go in and eat without going to the museum

Were excited to eat here as it looked nice from the pictures and indeed, the old architecture was beautiful. It was like stepping back in time! Perhaps we went too early and the servers were not quite awake, but they were just not very forthcoming...More
