This gorgeous rendition of a Viennese cafe falls short in one glaring way--- mediocre bread. It used to serve a bread basket filled with seeded, crispy offerings-- now only limp, uninteresting accompaniments to their breakfast. Please go back to your former glory!

If you have ever walked to the Met from the 86th Street subway stop, you’ve passed by Café Sabarsky at Fifth Avenue in the Neue Galerie. Next time go in and trade the hustle of 21st century America for a refined and relaxed taste of...More

Pretentious atmosphere, long lines to get in, tiny portions, expensive. The food is also mediocre. I've been to a few Viennese Cafes and they are all very down to earth, hearty sausages and pie on offer, everything is resonably prices, etc. This 'Viennese' Cafe is...More

This is an Austrian style cafe and restaurant. Great for Wiener schnitzel, apple strudel and the like.

Lovely Austrian dishes and pastries. It's a bit frenetic on a busy and cold winter day with a full museum, but still a very pleasant atmosphere. Service was very attentive and un-rushed. We had a beautiful bottle of Austrian wine with our spaetzle with vegetables...More

We ate breakfast which was very good, but the stars are the cakes- we had the Klimttorte and Sachertorte, both excellent. The coffee was very good, but the hot chocolate was excellent, made with real chocolate, very rich! Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

It’s been a couple of years since we were last here. We ordered the schnitzel and bratwurst. Both dishes arrived cold. We also ordered the gluhwein which cost $12 and turned out to be gluhwein in a tea bag that was not very good and...More

While visiting the Neue Gallery we stopped for delicious apple strudel, Sacher torte and Viennese coffee. The service was superb, prices were reasonable.
