Great vegetarian restaurant. It's casual and pretty busy. It's up there in the best vegetation restaurants in New York.

We got the buffalo cauliflower wings, per the waiter's request, which was such a great way to start. I ordered the mushroom seitan burger, which came with delicious truffle fries. Everything was really great, but I did kind of feel like the burger itself could have been seasoned a bit more. I also ordered the chocolate coconut smoothie, which was... More
Always visit here when in NY even thoughI am not vegan. Particularly recommend the lasagna and the Indian curry plate. carrot cake is superb and the cream better than the dairy original! Expensive and gets very crowded.
I've been suckered in 3 times now, because the location suits me and every time I swear never again. Overpriced, outrageously bad food. The grilled cheese was under-toasted, dry, cheap bread with unmelted Daiya cheese (there are soo many better cheese options). So very easy to make a good grilled cheese, you fail at that, you shouldn't own a restaurant.... More
We, a party of 2, went for lunch at this place on Dec 23 around 1:30 pm. The place is not very large but it was packed. We found seat right away. I had soup of the day which was split pea and mezze plate. Though the server said it may not be enough if you are hungry but I... More
First time here. Chose this for the gluten-free menu and was pretty disappointed in the portion. Ordered the 'Build It' salad and it tasted fine but it was more like a side salad except for $12.00. Now I have to get to get something to eat.
This place is great!! I would definitely recommend heading over there is you love vegan food, or just food food. They have a wide selection of things to eat but the menu isn't too large and overwhelming - it's just right. Good smoothie and shake selection! The staff were very welcoming and hospitable - they made a solo diner feel... More
They slightly changed the game recently when they renovated the space. While it looks good it fails on a comfort level so basic - heat. No excuse they have been around the block a few times so deciding on few heat sources, and no barrier from the caustic chill in the air at the door seems arrogant at best. It... More
I have visited Candle Cafe and its sister higher end restaurant Candle 79 several times. The cafe is a nice mid priced option for vegetarians, vegans and anyone with food allergies or dietary restrictions. The offer a wide variety of options from soups, salads, appetizers, small plates sandwiches and main courses as well as a juice bar and wine and... More
